Awful. Just awful, for everyone. I remember my parents telling me to be careful when I was a kid, then I'd drive off and be an idiot. 1978. He was born in 1978! What a terrible accident.

I don't think a higher draft age would have made much of a difference. It is an individual decision. It isn't like every youngster in the nhl who makes a lot of money does this kind of thing.

Even if the age had been raised to 20, Dan still would have been in the NHL by now, making the same kind of money.
