Here's what I loved.

“I had never seen Brookbank play, but our scouting staff had identified him as a guy that can play defense and some forward,” Trotz said. “He got thrown right into the fire. He was a presence out there.


“He got the third star of the game, and played his game. He plays within his limits. He realizes he is not going to be Bobby Orr. He moves the puck quickly, and he is a tough kid.”


This is where Hulse, Houlder and Skrastins struggled and where Schnabel and Brookbank stood out. They carry the puck end to end but they moved it quick enough to get it out of danger and they got it into the hands of players that can carry the puck.

edit to add one last statement about Schnabel and Brookbank.

Anyone else notice how the Blues players stayed away from the corners and in front of the net when either of these two guys were out there? :D

Ya they were dealing out punishment to any foward who entered the goaltenders area. All 3 off the big guys were punishing all night.
