Which one of these two agitators is gonna make the most impact for their team?
Tootoo or Torres?USC Trojans 10-06-2003, 02:30 PM Which one of these two agitators is gonna make the most impact for their team? Oiltalk 10-06-2003, 03:00 PM Torres will have the better hands. Tootoo has a lot of heart, but will get manhandled by many of the bigger guys. Cyclops II* 10-06-2003, 03:10 PM Tootoo , I think he's gonna be the next Claude Lemieux . He's gonna be hated by so many player's this year and lots of fans . I can't wait until Tootoo takes a run at Bertuzzi . :yo: That would be one way to commit suicide. He appears to match Claude as an agitator but I doubt he has Lemieux's offensive ability. Claude is 6'1' 230 lbs while Tootoo is 4" shorter and 30 lbs lighter. Lemieux was a great offensive performer in his prime and one of the best playoff performers too. IMO Tootoo will be a poor man's Lemieux at best. Both can make the NHL based on their physical game alon, but Raffi has better offensive ability. evman150* 10-06-2003, 08:15 PM Hate to go with the Greaser, but Raffi Torres is simply a better player. Torres will make an impact on the oilers you're talking like bertuzzi ever backs up his whiny comments. you're also talking like because tootoo is small...he's light\weak. you'll see. in fact...let's have this poll again...at the end of the season. i was a tootoo skeptic...but he's made a believer of me, and he'll make one of you, too. So he's an emotional guy. What can I say, he's Italian. Cyclops II* 10-10-2003, 03:30 AM bad analogy... Oops. I just realized what you are referring too. It was not a reference to his brother, conciously at least. I would have used it in reference to any player attacking Bertuzzi who is outweighed by 50 lbs. Much of Bertuzzi's goal scoring ability can be attributed to his size and the inability of defenders to stop him when he goes to the net. It would have to be a very well timed hit by anyone to knock him off balance. A fight between the two is another matter entirely. Mack 10-10-2003, 08:35 PM Jordin Tootoo biscuithead 10-17-2003, 09:42 AM I'll take Tootoo but it's hard to compare them Torres already has a couple of years under his belt. Epsilon 10-17-2003, 11:09 AM Torres by a wide margin, and the way this year has started gives me no reason to think otherwise. windowlicker 10-17-2003, 12:21 PM Torres by a wide margin, and the way this year has started gives me no reason to think otherwise. yeah, i dont know what milbury was thinking. niinimaa is a nice model car, but he has ALOT of miles on him(which have taken a toll). and from what ive seen so far of torres, hes gonna be a consistent 15-20 goal 40-50 point guy with desire (who knows, with enough ice time he just might live up to the 5th overall tag in the future.) DJ Spinoza 10-17-2003, 03:04 PM Torres easily. IceDragoon 10-17-2003, 04:32 PM 5th overall pick in 2000 - Torres of course Stephen 10-18-2003, 07:40 PM Tootoo will be alot like Clark IMO. I still think Torres will be better. I think Torres will be a lot closer to Clark than Tootoo. I'm thinking Tootoo will be an energy guy with checking ability like Kris Draper. Oilers Hockey 10-18-2003, 10:48 PM Torres and Tootoo are rookies playing the whole season instead of just a few games, and I'm not taking anything away from Tootoo because he's great for his size, but Torres has really fit in greatly with the Oil! He has already started racking up points and is a physical force on the ice. Torres. Hossa 10-20-2003, 06:43 AM Torres has better scoring potential. Tootoo, I like him a lot, but I'm not sure he'll be more than a Rob Dimaio type of player. Hossa 10-20-2003, 06:45 AM 5th overall pick in 2000 - Torres of course While I agree with your pick, taking a player based on where he is picked is silly. I hope you based your opinion on more than his draft position, becuase by your standards, Brent Krahn is better than Ray Emery. P.S. I'm only using you as an example, as I see this all the time on these boards. IceDragoon 10-20-2003, 10:21 AM While I agree with your pick, taking a player based on where he is picked is silly. Just using his position in the draft as an added bit of info. Nothing against Tootoo, but I think Torres will have more impact. Hossa 10-20-2003, 10:42 AM Draper is a heartless coward while Tootoo is not bad comparison. A heartless coward? Care to explain why Draper has no heart (although several cup rings), and is a coward? That's a pretty strong statement. #37-#93-#27* 10-20-2003, 01:09 PM A heartless coward? Care to explain why Draper has no heart (although several cup rings), and is a coward? (but i wont cause im too lazy tonite) just because you have a cup ring doesnt mean you won it yourself or that you deserve it. it could simply be that someone else won it for you. | ||
