"I can't put into words what I feel right now," Peters said after Tuesday morning's practice in HSBC Arena. He had six stitches in his left ear, a purple splotch under his left eye and a gash in his lower lip.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I just don't want to blow it," he added.


Sabres coach Lindy Ruff indicated Peters might have done enough in the preseason to make the team even if Boulton had stayed healthy.

"Andrew has done everything we've asked of him and done it on his own," Ruff said. "He made a statement coming into camp that he wanted to make this hockey club.

"He was one of the biggest surprises in camp."


Peters will be the fourth-line left winger with center Chris Taylor and right winger Adam Mair. Ruff said he would consider eventually moving Mair back to center to skate between Peters and Boulton.

Peters is going to kick arse and take names later!:)

I've got a clip of the fight with Vandenbussche, and Peters drove him to his knees with a good, solid right. Then Vandy jumped back up (don't know how), and Peters kept wailing away with the right. Peters got taken down at the end, but not after connecting some nice punches. So I would say...yes. He's looked very, very good.
