JofaPads 10-08-2003, 11:46 PM I think Kristian Huselius of the Panthers would flourish in Pittsburgh. He is a prototypical Piitsburgh player, European, skilled, flashy. Mike Keenan hates Huselius and I think there is a good opportunity to get him. His salary is not too bad and he could score tons and draw fans. Also, I do not think Pittsburgh should play a defensive system. Wide open is your guys' style.
Spiffy 10-08-2003, 11:54 PM Dudley loves Huselius. That's what counts unfortunately I think the Panthers can't dump him before Dudley wants to.

I think Pittsburgh with a new coach have changed. There are lot faster and aggressive, but I personally think they got the nearly the same amount of offensive flair. Murley, Malone and Koltsov played great with their opportunities. And latter in the season Surovy and Meloche will join in. I think overall the Penguins are going to play a more North American style of hockey. And there's no such thing as defensive system, its called a trap, New Jersey/Minnesota play a trap but Ottawa/Dallas play a system. Quitely frankly a trap further would waste Pittsburgh's talent. But I would like a guy Huselius in our team, great scorer. And would probably only offer this:
Martin Straka + 3rd --> Kristian Huselius + 4th.
Spiffy 10-09-2003, 02:45 AM Martin Straka + 3rd --> Kristian Huselius + 4th.
Overpaying by a lot...
Straka is a superstar (or at least on the limit to being one) and Kristian Huselius is at best a young star.
Koltsov71 10-09-2003, 02:49 AM Bah... They can keep him.
Spiffy 10-09-2003, 02:52 AM Bah... They can keep him. If they actually offered that I think that they should give Olli Jokinen with salary paid as a gift for not bashing the living day-lights of them(florida).

for an ope sytem, you need a bunch of scorers on the team, o else we'll ge murdered like last year. we dont have the scoring we did even 3 years ago. colorado's team would work, but not the pens. also, the Pens use a modified defensive system that is supposed create break outs and generatemore offense than the regular trap.
i to would love to have huselis, but dudley likes him and pobably will fire keenane ahead of trading him (thats usually the awy it works with keenan). i think straka is too much t give up for him. now morozov on the other hand...
Alex Kovalev 10-09-2003, 08:04 AM Huselius is too small and not physical enough to be a dominant player in the nhl
Alex Kovalev 10-09-2003, 08:13 AM He's 6'1'' and 190 lbs...how is he too small?
Murley, Fata, Morozov, Koltsov...are all 6'1''
:dunno:
By small I mean soft. Hes talented, and I like him as a player, but he is real soft.

i cant imagine him being sifter than morozov, but a lot of people think he is good.
Parrish 06-23-2004, 01:51 AM Theres a likely hood of this guy being moved saturday. The Pens area deffinant possibility while so id Dallas.What would you give for him.
Would Fata and Abid do... :)
SprootsMasterFlex 06-23-2004, 07:46 AM I get the feeling that maybe Rozsival, Abid and a 3rd rounder for Huselius and a 2nd from the Cats would be pretty even since the Cats aree also looking for some Defense this year.
kutdacheez 06-23-2004, 08:12 AM Hmmmmm? The more I look at this the better it looks. At first, I thought, why would we look at a player who's point total has dropped for the last two years, is reportedly soft, and who's name so closely resembles Kristin Useless.
But after a further review I think he may be worth a shot and we may have something to offer up (such as) Matt Bradley, Ramzi Abid, Steve McKenna (all RFA's), Michal Rozival and our third round pick for Kristian Huselius and their second round.
The Tang 06-23-2004, 08:28 AM i am with Kutda. i think he is worth a shot, especially since i have a feeling teh free agents they will sign wont be anything great. i have no problems giving up Abid or Roszival, as i think injuries have hampered them, and will continue to far too much to make them fully effective and reach their full potential. as for Bradley and McKenna, i'll take whatever i can get for them. also, McKenna's contract is up, and chances are he will be a ufa as i cant see teh Pens having any real reason to resign him.

Not going to have that problem since Dudley got fired and Keenan took his place

Superstar Shane 06-23-2004, 12:07 PM Can he play right wing? Otherwise I wouldn't bother. We have enough problems finding space for our own left wingers and centers; we don't need to add another to the mix.
And why do people find it necessary to dig up old threads from October when they could very easily start a new one and confuse less people. :p:

He prefers left wing, but if we trade Abid then its a lw for a lw.
Superstar Shane 06-23-2004, 10:03 PM But we still have Malone, Koltsov, and Surovy: all of whom are LW's who would do best in a top 6 role. And I don't know about any of you, but if you ask me, Abid's trade value is pretty close to zero at the moment.
