Hi guys!

Do you have comments on Eminger, Semin (did he play?) and Gordon following the game againt NYI?

Thanks!

Semin didn't dress.

Eminger looked pretty good, and the pairing of him and Witt looks like the Caps #1 defensive defense pairings. Played @ 18 minutes, and on the PP and the PK units. I've read that the plan is for him to keep his game simple, and as he gets more experience, to start joining the rush, as Witt will be there to bail him out.

Gordon had a shot on his first shift, then an assist. Jagr should get most of the credit, as he blew a laser by Snow, but Gordon didn't look out of place. Faster skater than I thought.

Hopefully, Semin dresses on Saturday, as I'd really like to see him.

The Islanders didn't much of a forecheck last night at all. It was an easy night for Eminger to get settled. What is going to happen with him and the reason he needs to play simple is that the forecheck will come.
And it will come straight at him. Opposing teams will skate at him rather than Witt. They will dump the puck in his corner than Witt's and he will have to be ready for that. He has last night, Atlanta and Montreal before he gets the big pressure. Ottawa will be a serious test.

Gordon was good. He won a key face off that lead to the goal he assisted on and he looked like he could keep up.

Semin. It would be nice to see him play against Atlanta and Montreal, because you know that he won't against Ottawa, Dallas, St. Louis and Toronto twice on the road trip. That said, the players that he might replace in the line up are Gordon(assist), Miller(1st line/Jagr's favorite partner), Willsie(2 assists), and Pettinger(who's physical play led to the second goal). Who sits?

Gordon really looked like a guy who was trying to not make mistakes, instead of just playing. I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't dissappointed either. Once he loosens up, I think he'll get better.

Jagr was awesome. Played physical, stuck up for some teammates during a late scrum. Made some amazing stickhandling moves.

Eminger looked very comfortable, carried the puck well, which was nice to see since only Gonchar could do that last year.

Willsie really impressed me. In fact, the whole 4th line was something we haven't had in a while. They can all skate really well. Finally a 4th line that I wasn't scared to see out there.

Kiwi didn't play a lot.

Doig and Gruden were on the PK. Both did a very nice job there. Gruden was solid, Doig make some mistakes.

Eminger played near 26 minutes against Toronto yesterday. Somebody saw the game? Did he play well?

He did. He was on the ice in all situations. I wasn't a huge fan of having him on the big club at first, but he is proving me wrong. (And I'm happy about that)

Eminger looked awesome in the tiem I saw him last night (last 10 minutes of the 3rd and OT). That pokecheck on Sundin was incredible.

He's showing flashes of #1 defenseman-ness.

Gordon was minus 3 yesterday, that is not a good news...

The whole stupid game was bad news...what do you expect from a rookie seeing as much time as gordon did during a game that was 5-1...a rookie being minus 3 is the least of our problems

If anything good comes from this season, its that we seem to have the whole draft thing figured out...we have the 4 first round picks that are still a part of the organization (beech excluded) in caps sweaters making an impact already...3 of those guys coming out of a supposedly weak draft...2nd round pick pettinger completely 180'ed from last year and looks to be on track, and 2nd round defensemen cutta and yonkman can argueably be in the nhl right now
