Montreal Looks Brutal

without koiuvu and a mediocre theodore, the habs looked like a farm team last night.

there's no reason the leafs shouldnt pound these guys and win in lopsided fashion.

prediction:
Leafs 7 Habs 1

The Habs have to play better. I think they can, but I have zero confidence in their personel outside of Jose Theodore, Zednik, Bulis, and a couple of their defensemen. Their depth is among the worst in the league. Gainey must be thinking, 'What have I gotten myself into?' after last nights loss.

The Leafs should win this one handily. But I don't think it'll be quite as lopsided as you. I'll say 2 - 0 win for the Leafs.

The habs will play with more enthusiasm against the leafs,at least i hope they do.Leafs/habs games are generally all out efforts by both teams.I think the leafs will still win but the habs will at least show up tomorrow.

Leafs 4-1

Montreal - small centers and forwards, no real scoring threats, injury to their captain and best player, and a weak defense, combined to a goaltender coming down to earth after 1 great season. -- bad team -- I figure they will challenge Phoenix, Atlanta and Pittsburgh for the worst team in the league this year.

Its only one game and remember the habs, live to play TO, its like winning the cup for them to beat us.....mark my words they will show up to play.

Prediction:
Tie game 3-3

They really missed Zednik, and Koivu last night.

I'm not going to bother with a predcition, but at least on paper Toronto should definitely win.

I think this is going to be a extreamly good line for the leafs.. Only thing slowing this line down is going to be injories.

As for saturdays game I predict:
Maple Leafs 6
Montreal 2

Atleast thats what I am hoping for as thats what I have in my pool... :yo:

So the Leafs will win against the Canadiens by the same or even bigger score (6-2 or 7-1) than the Senators did (5-2). I suppose there is some logical explanation for these extravagant predictions but I haven't figured it out. Is it because these posters consider the Leafs to be superior to the Senators?

Actually the 5-2 score was flattering to the habs.

Emotions, that's what you're displaying, just emotions. Your ids urge you to predict 11-0 but you hesitate because you don't want to appear utterly ridiculous. You compromise with being just slightly ridiculous with a 7-1 score. Suppose the "impossible" happens and that IS the final score, but in the opposite column?

Corey, the point is not that the Leafs are or are not better than the Senators. The logical explanation, which you are deliberately avoiding, is simply that Toronto is a much better team than Les Shtroumpfs. It may not be 7-1 tonight, but it easily could be.

Look at our lineup. Look at the Shab lineup. You don't think this team can score 5 or 6 goals on a team like Montreal? They certainly have that capacity when you compare the calibre of talent on the two.
It's not even close.

Anyway, Ottawa pretty much laid off late in the game. Otherwise it could easily have been worse. Chara did look nicely horrible, though. He blew it bigtime on one of those goals.

I will give you all credit for one thing: On THIS thread you stuck to the topic, the weakness of the Canadiens. None of you bragged about the greatness of the Maple Leafs or proclaimed their superiority to the Senators.

I'm tempted to change the title of this thread to "Toronto looks brutal".
3-0 Habs.
Disgusting, there is no way Toronto should be losing to Montreal when they don't even have their best player in the lineup.

This is not the way I'd have hoped to see Toronto start the season.

Get your foot out of your intestines. I cannot begin to describe that kind of a game for a home opener. Too disgusted to speak.
