What are we going to do when healthy?

What will we do when the Fish comes back from injury and havlat resigns. I guess Vermette will be sent back to bingo, but that is just 1 man in the place of 2, too me none of the guys starting right now deserves to be in the press box. And what if Muck does sign stumpy Thomas then what?? Depth is great but I'm starting to think we are going to have to make a deal. It is one thing to have good depth players but we will have extra players when healthy who are leaps and bounds above what you would consider depth players. :dunno:

We'll have three first line, and a 4th line better than most third lines in the league. Everyobody will wish they were sens fans. IMO Thomas won't be signed unless it's a sure bet that Havlat won't be playing this year.

yup...agree...if Stumpy gets signed...then it's 100% sure that Havlat won't set foot on the Corel center ice this season in a Sens uniform.

I wish Garrioch would quit stoking the fire by all these ridiculous Stumpy headlines. I'm a huge Stevie Thomas fan, and would love to see that kind of heart injected into our team, but right now the ONLY task at hand is to sort out Havlat. I want Havlat on this team. Havlat. Not Stumpy. I'm quite optimistic things will happen, actually. I was taken aback by the Havlat camp one-upping Mucks on taking the high road outta here. In the end it was more posturing, as it appears Havlat hasn't left quite yet. It's very very clear that both parties want to reach a solution where Havlat is playing in the Ottawa Senators line-up, and that they're roughly 3-4 hundy G's away from getting there. Realistically, poop really needs to hit the fan to see Havlat leave the country, and IMO I'll worry if that happens. Apparently, he's got a ticket to Czech on a flight that leaves tonight - posturing or not, publicly stating something like this means that they want to get something done ASAP. I would be surprised if Havlat is not signed within the next few days, or even sooner. Just a guess.

Anyways, theres my rant. Point is, I will disregard any Stumpy speculation, because my guess is that Havlat will be signed in the very near future.

As far as depth goes, I think the team knows what kind of situation they're in. The guys on the bubble know their role, and are professionals. Of course they would rather be playing, but these guys are the 'glue' of a cup contending team. There is always a sacrifice needed to be made, and I don't think a guy like Van Allen can justify having a guy like Mike Fisher sit in place of him. A guy like Vermette, however, can marinate down in Bingo, as can a guy like Jody Hull. That said, we're looking at the deepest forward set in the league. :)

edit: Speaking of a decent forward set, I saw the Colorado game last night.

I'd love to sign Stumpy, but if Havlat signs and Fisher heals properly, he's not that necessary.

Jody Hull can and should be sent down to Bingo (he's a freakin' coach!), and Vermette, will simply become our first call-up.

I'd love to sign Stumpy, especially for the playoffs, but I can't see him signing to be a 13th or 14th forward.

When both White and Fischer come back (and since their both Centres), who'll likely be the "odd man out"? or will one of the centres be moved to wing?
