It can't get any worse than last night, right?

I like your wishful thinking. I'm just glad hockey season has started but I think this one may get ugly.

I like your wishful thinking. I'm just glad hockey season has started but I think this one may get ugly.

I'm happy hockey is back as well. I don't mind losing, as long as the effort and solid level of play is evident. If all the games are like last night, it's gonna be tough to watch all eighty two.

Philadelphia's lineup is extremely solid.. Even without hop-along Leclair. One bright spot tonight will be our first chance to see another high touted rookie, Joni Pitkanen. I don't have a good feeling about the game either.

It's gonna take us awhile to get in gear.

I don't want to be pessimestic, but I am kinda scared to think what the final score of this one might be. We better have our legs under us tonight or it could get real ugly really fast.

I also don't mind losing, as long as Mario and Marty are exciting to watch and score a lot of points, and some of our young players take big steps forward.

Losing is ok, unless like you said the players play a bad game.

I'll be happy to see Pitkanen, he's the future real deal on D for the Flyers.

Hopefully we can get in gear, our clutch is burning out.

I think Pittsburgh will lose 4-2 tonight. They will play harder tonight and come out ready, but fall to a better team.

FYI all, Robert Esche will be our goaltender tonight. Not Hack.

I think the Pens gonna have a tough night once again. After having been ejected from the game against the Sabres, Primeau is a real ball of fire! Williams is hot and Pitkänen was awesome yesterday.

Our lineup should be :

Gagné - Roenick - Amonte
Chouinard - Handzus - Williams
Brashear - Primeau - Kapanen
Somik - Lapointe - Recchi

Weinrich - Desjardins
Vandermeer - Jonhsson
Pitkänen - Ragnarsson

Esche
Hackett

Have a good match everyone and good luck :handclap:

I think the pens will WIN 4-2 not lose 4-2.

I think Koltsov will get a goal, Mario 2 goals, and the other will be by Abid.

Caron will have a solid night, Orpik will go around and hit everything once again (his 20pim in one game is hilarious).

I might be sleepy right now but i am sure as hell not gonna say they will lose.
hmmm something tells me Orpik ain't gonna do much tonight...

Abid was a scratch last night, and we have heard nothing about line-up changes for tonight.

based on the defense the pens showed last night i dont see how the flyers dont score at least a half dozen tonight.....I hope I'm wrong but I'll say 7-2 flyers with mario and malone scoring a pair of garbage goals for the pens

YEAH! way to go Tarnstrom!

Koltsov71
10-11-2003, 04:22 PM
I believe Tarnstrom was given credit for the goal on the powerplay. With assists to Lemieux and Straka.

It looked like Koltsov may have deflected it in front.. Couldn't tell on the replays.

Either way, his presence in front of the net was a key factor in setting up the scoring chance. Good work KK!

Lemieux scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-11-2003, 04:59 PM
Koltsov, again, had a big part in that goal. Not sure if he got an assist, but his persistence created the opportunity for Lemieux.

3-2.. Still plenty of time left.

"Stupid comments"? This from someone who regularly calls disagreeing posters "idiot" and "retard"?

It was a completely innocuous comment, and you know it. Grow some thicker skin and a sense of humor.

Shore it was good performance, but seriously the Penguins have had some very poor special teams. 4 goals have been scored against our special teams, our PK is espcially slow, in both defense and offense. Seriously guys like Buchberger, Eastwood, etc can't cut with the top powerplays of the league. Straka, Koltsov, Fata, Malone etc needed to be given some PK time, and will probably do a better job.

And another things we happen to one of the slowest teams in the NHL. Seriously a lot of our veterans are way to slow, but a lot of younger players are pretty good.

So, you're saying that the crafty veteran PKers can't cut it and you think it'd be more effective to put rookies in that role instead? That makes a LOT of sense.
