La Daily News Version
But the better news was that Gleason, who made his NHL debut the night before, was struck above the left knee and did not suffer structural damage.
He will not play Sunday against the Blackhawks in Chicago, but he won't join the already long list of injured Kings who have missed the start of the season
La Times Version
Gleason was helped off the ice, but the diagnosis of a bruised left knee was fortunate for Gleason and the Kings, who are already without their top two defensemen.
"I'm pretty stubborn but hopefully I'll be back Sunday against Chicago," Gleason said. "I didn't know he'd catch me like that. It shocked me for a minute and it was like a charley horse after that."

You're welcome. Hopefully he only sits out the Chicago game, and he's back against Ottawa

agentfouser 10-12-2003, 06:14 AM anyone note the blurb in the paper today about orpik being fined $6000? am i the only one who thinks that that's a really trivial, and almost insulting, amount? fines should be based on percentages of salary. for a hit like that, you should lose 25% of your salary. that way, it might actually be effective, instead of chump-change.

i don't know how much orpik makes...maybe just $.5M(?), so yeah its chump change...at the same time, taking out 25% of your salary would be really excessive i think...but its good to know crap like that won't be tolerated. should have been suspended a couple more games. btw, they'll also take off 1/82 of your salary on top of the 6 grand i believe...so if my salary guess is correct he's out $12k total.
Koltsov71 10-12-2003, 10:38 AM What little I have read about him, mentions he has has very good offensive skills but also that he is less than stellar defensively. How has he looked at both ends of the ice during camp and the few games he's got in so far this season?
Again, thanks for any insight. :)
I hope he has a speedy recovery, and I hope Orpik is more careful in the future.
EDIT - spelling
