Quebec wins in net but besides Lecavalier and Mario the talent is alittle weak.

I voted for the Ontario/maritimes

Just stick Madden on Lemieux like the Devils did against the Pens in the 00-01 playoffs to take Lemieux off his game, problem solved.

Actually, I was thinking of a shutdown line of Ricci, Madden and Peca to go along with Foote and Pronger as far as matchups go against the oppositions top scoring line. Bring on Mario :D

Johnny
10-13-2003, 07:07 PM
Devils didn't stick Madden on Lemieux in 00-01, they had Holik as their #1 checking center and he played vs the Jagr/Lemeiux line.

Are you sure about that? I could be wrong, no doubt. I do seem to recall Mr Lemieux getting oftly frustrated with Madden on one occasion during that series where he took a very bad penalty against Madden due to Madden getting under his skin, which was very un-Lemieux-like to say the least.

Either way, Lemieux would have his hands full, make no mistake about it.

I'm from B.C. and now live in Alberta, but I'd have to say Ontario has too much depth not to lose. The West has scoring and Quebec has goaltending, but Ontario doesn't really have any visible weak spots.

You'd think since Sask produces the most NHLers per capita that they would be able to submit some players to the team.

How about McLaren, Warrener, Redden, Witt?

Or Hartnell, Friesen, Marleau, Fleury, Morrow?

Steve Yzerman was born in Cranbrook, B.C., but he grew up in Nepean, Ontario and played his hockey in the OHL.

"Steve grew up in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean, Ontario. The city celebrated Steve Yzerman day on November 2, 1996 and renamed the Nepean Sportsplex's hockey rink to the Steve Yzerman Hockey Arena."

Man, i thought this was gonna be east coast vs. west..if that were the case, I'd easily pick east..hell, just putting quebec and ontario together, and they'd beat the rest of canada.

But then, no disrespect to any of the other canadian towns like vancouver and calgary..edmonton etc..but toronto and montreal is hockey in canada.

Just like CBC "hockey night in canada" is a game betweeen the Habs and Leafs.
