I always thought Ramholt was a great d-man and has the potential to be a top 4 d-man in the NHL with the Flames. I was just wondering where he is playing right now, how he is doing and when if ever is he expected to come to North America? Thanks

Ramholt plays with Kloten Flyers in the swiss league.

After he came from Cape-Breton Screaming Eagles, he played the season 2004/05 with Zurich but didn't have a lot of time ice because he didn't have a great impact on the game. He played like 6th or 7th defenseman. Not a good season for him. Something to forget.

In the off season, Tim went to the archirival Kloten Flyers. This team works with a lot of young players (some players drafted like Patrick Bartschi, Philippe Seydoux or Tobias Stephan). I thougt that it's a good choice and he 'll improve his level. Not like is former season in Zurich.

But for now, Ramholt doesn't play a lot, perhaps like 5th or 6th defenseman. He has just one little assist in 24 games. No impact on the offensive game. His ratio is -1. We can be disappointed when we are seeing his play.

Ramholt has some problem to confirm his statut of good prospect, but he 's still a young player. I hope that he hasn't say his last word.

Thanks for the update. It looks like this guys stock as a prospect has really taken a hit since he went back to Switzerland.

I remember watching him in the Calgary Flmaes training camp a few years ago and thinking he could be a top 4 d-man someday. I hope he can turn it around.

Also, is there any talk of the kid being lazy or having attitude or work ethic problems?

As well, any word on when Ramholt may come over to North America.

Thank You!!! :flames

Personally, the one I've liked best is Beat Forster, what's up with him?

Forster is playing in Switzerland accoring to eurohockey.net.

He also plays a lot internationally. He played in the 2005 WC's for example.

Ramholt had the tools, it got him drafted and then he never got one little bit better after the age of 18. As a 19 year old he played like a scared little boy in the World Juniors( The whole Swiss team under achieved that year). It was so nice to see some lesser lights playing aggressive and fearless hockey the other night. Blum, Diaz and Chiesa just would not quit, working some extremely hard minutes in their own zone. Weber played hard but let up a couple of times- he is only 17. If Ramholt continues along his current career path he will be a playing in League 2 in Switzerland abd that will be that. It is a shame. Size, speed and shot - to this point its wasted.

He isn't sure to be in the team Switzerland for the JO. This season is a little hard for him. He don't seem in good shape.

Actually he plays with the Zurich Lions... This team was supposed to be a serious candidate for the Championship... And in fact, at the moment, they aren't even in the battle for a place in playoffs!

He played for Zurich last season, but he's now a member of the Kloten Flyers.

Regarding Forster, he never improved his skating and has a bad habit of turning the puck over in the defensive zone. He's having a poor season and probably won't make the olympic team, unless someone got injured.

As for Bezina, he never was that good in the first place. He can throw the body and shoot the puck, but not much more. He's a poor skater and couldn't handle the puck to save his life. His few NHL games were played as a 4th line agitator because his coach was afraid to put him on defense.
