According to this morning's paper, JLGP and Walser are scratches no longer. These guys who had "excellent camps", according to our one man front office, will be on the ice due to the injuries we have suffered.

Wescott is day to day, Wright out up to 3 weeks and Letowski is 4 to 6 weeks.

Possible line combinations considering the injuries:

Sanderson - Cassels - Vyborny
Nash - Marchant - Nedorost
Pirjeta - Knutsen - Ling
Shelley - Fritsche - JLGP

Richardson - Spacek
Sydor - Klesla
Lachance - Walser

I think Ling would work well on the third line; JLGP would probably be best on the fourth line. As much as I would like to move Danny up to the third line as well, I think Espen would be more effective on the third line vs. the fourth.

Putting Walser on the third defensive pairing with Lachance is a pure guess on my part. :dunno:

Fritsche should be on the third line with Espen. They showed some chemistry for the short time they were together, I think keeping them together for the Hawks would be a good thing. Have Ling or Hyphens center the fourth line.

yeah let the kid move up! I have to say I'm kind of excited to see JLGP get in the line up, he looked good in the pre-season.

Fritsche did in fact look pretty good out there in the latter part of the game, filling in on the third line. Hopefully Dan will give DM every reason to keep him on the third line, if he is given the opportunity.

JLGP, Ling, and Shelley on the same line - whoa. Would that rank as the toughest in the league?

No matter how it ends up shaking out, it's nice to have at least some depth to our roster for once.

Sydor does that fine enough.

We all know he has a knack for getting shots through from the point, and can really rip the puck, but I worry about Walser's "D" game

I agree completely. If he can get into the groove of playing sound positional defense, Walser could be a very useful man to have in Columbus. If not, he may prove to be a very useful guy to have in Syracuse. I think Chicago's a good opponent for him to prove he can get the job done, as they don't bring in quite the firepower of Colorado or Vancouver.

I think walser at least deserves a shot. I mean look at how improved Duvie is this year.... Its like night and day. Do I expect Walser to be the same? No. But he should get a shot at least..
