Referees...

Anyone else get that "Damn, we're screwed !" feeling when they see certain refs calling the game?

For me, it has to be Blaine Angus. Everytime that guy calls our games we seem to get more than our share of crap penalties while the other team seems to get away with murder.

And speaking of which....did I miss something or did the obstruction penalty get thrown out for this year? Both games against Carolina were "clutch & grab" fests & I don't recall a single obstruction call.

Oh, and didn't Angus call both games or was the 1st Devorski??????

It will always seem that way, but yes a lot of calls go uncalled that should and then when we do them we called for them.

Devorski is at the top of my list. Is Magoo still ref'ing? He was another.

Stewart and Angus (the man should stick to beef ;)) are definately two of the worst refs. I think we should all bend over when Angus is the ref.

No I was mentioning this as well. The Canes clutched and held a lot in the neutral zone which negated the Panthers speed considerably. The Panthers have to adjust and make better passes in the neutral zone, but it is hard to get to some of those passes if you are being held or slowed down. That one call against Mezei was total crap, he cleanly leveled Cole and got a roughing call. The officiating was bad in first two games as well.

I gladly second both Devorski & Stewart. I cringed last Saturday when Devorski was announced as one of the Refs at the Arena (and my name ends in "ski" too).

Panthers are definitely biased against with certain refs. I felt the same way Puckboy last Thursday sittin in the Center and then realizin on top of it, we were goin againxt a clutch and grab, neutral zone trapping team.

The all-time Panther killer ref wise was Mark Faucette. He hated us on a personal level it seemed. Happy to see his firing.......

I forgot about him. Glad he is gone also, but Khorski(?) is just as bad. Although his ref-ing last night was not to bad. Only a couple of missed tripping calls.

Just outta curiosity, are there any GOOD refs? Seriously, are there refs that anyone DOESN'T mind seeing officiating our games, or are there any that seem to FAVOR us during games? I can't really think of any, but I've been wrong before.
