Surprised a bit to see Reichel in the lineup for the Leafs after what happened the other night. Albelin and Martin paired up early on.

Devils PP made the Leafs penalty killers look absolutely atrocious there. Should be 2-0 Devils with Brylin putting one in the side.

Wonder how Domi is going to react to all the rumors in the Toronto papers about his GM shopping him around the league.

Nice work by Brodeur on Kaberle. Leafs have a previously similar Tommy Albelin situation of their own with Karel Pilar hoping to get a contract with the team still.

Thanks Ratsgirl! Stevens was hit pretty good from behind by Sundin after the Brodeur save on Kaberle. If we get a 2 or 3 goal lead, I imagine we'll see some payback for it.

Yeah he does. Those new pads look sharp on him. Elias looks pretty focused tonight also. I'm really not liking the road jersey's at home switch though.

Good to see Rupp doing whats needed out there along the boards. Couple decent hits so far from him. Rasmussen looking alright tonight.

Gionta took a wicked hit in front of Belfour there. Holy smokes.

Niedermayer with some bad luck in the last 4 minutes of this game. His clearing attempt hit Rupp and went right to Darcy Tucker for the quick blast. Nieds had a shot blocked before this and was unable to bury a point blank rush on Belfour.

Bleh. I feared this would happen. Belfour owned the Devils last year.

I have to say I'm starting to not like Marshall.

In the playoffs he was enough of a physical force to make oppposing players focus on him.

But he isn't playing with an intensity now. If he's just going to stand there while the opposing team swarms around Elias and beats up on Gomer, he's useless.

But the ceromony was great, I actually got choked up and tears in my eyes i was so happy....But then i got home and had to watch that Boston Masacre the Red Sox were so mismanaged, Grady Litttle is a moron.....But anyways its hockey season,

BTW, Rafalski and Nieds are looking awesome, but god...our first line sucks. Something has to be done about the Elias-Gomez-Marshall line. Its just to mish-mess. No chemistry whatsoever. However, our others line are looking great. Martin and Hale haven't been good, but its to be expected. I thought Albelin was solid also for his 1st game.

I realize its early in the season and all, but its starting to look like Larionov's patience with the puck is quickly filtering down to the rest of the team on the PP and at even strength. Even though the Devils didn't get a power play goal last night it still looked pretty damned good compared with what we saw last season. One shift had the team passing the puck one too many times when the shot should have been unloaded from point blank range, but aside from that it was fun to watch and a legitimate offensive threat. Seemed like the brilliant play which Rafalski made with seconds left in regulation was inspired by Larionov's total patience with the puck. There was no panic at all and a gritty killer instinct displayed by Langenbrunner in OT.
