Accounted for 6 pts and 3 g's last night. Cibak and Clymer were probably the best players on the ice...when you can throw that on the ice against someone you can compete against anyone.

Cibak and Clymer were probably the best players on the ice...when you can throw that on the ice against someone you can compete against anyone. Nice to see Mo get one. Clymer had another great game. Really worked hard for that assist on Cully's goal. And I like what Cibak brings to the table. I agree with Chad that his ability to create scoring chances is going to catch many by surprise. Nice game tonight -- in limited action -- by all three of those guys. petec1978* 10-16-2003, 06:03 PM ESPN.com is saying they gave the assists on Kubina's goal (the first would be Modin's) which would mean they had 7 points altogether. I was laughing my *** off after Modin's goal. You just knew LightningNation was CRINGING in agony because he finished that one perfectly. -Pete Choquette aapbolt 10-18-2003, 06:08 PM Lets here it for the 3rd line again tonight against the devils!! :yo: The CCM line continues to put energy into the game and create scoring chances. They really are outworking the other team a lot and putting themselves into position to get more ice time. I am really impressed with Cibak so far. Oceanic39* 10-18-2003, 06:57 PM Re: CCM... I was thinking the same thing. Great marketing tool for the hockey equipment company. Did Torts sit Cibak for the last 1/2 of the game? I didn't see him out there. Line's were juggled again. Part of that was due to the centers getting out of cycle. Richards jumped off early once and Taylor was with STL and Stillman, and Cibak dropped to the dirt line because of it. Late in the third Stillman was with VL and Affy; Fedotenko with Richards and STL. That line got the GWG, mostly thanks to STL's outstanding deflection to get around Stevens. Stevens had a nice feature on him in THN this summer and he listed STL as one of the 5 hardest forwards to cover in the league. Rschmitz 10-18-2003, 09:30 PM As good as they were Thursday, they were even better tonight. Its one thing to disrupt the other teams game, its another thing to be able to legitamitly say you can disrupt them and score at the same time. If the Bolts had these lines together for the Devils series last year instead of the enigmatic FSU line things may have been a little different. St. Louis is going to score no matter what line u put him on. You could fix him on a line with Steve Goulla and Dan Kesa and he'll still probably get 20 goals. Its funny, I really don't get all that excited after a St. Louis goal...a couple of years ago yes, last year maybe; but by now i've been sapped so long that I sort of expect Louie to deke out two defensemen and go five hole on the goalie while getting slapped and held onto by undressed players following up. Another good game by Afenasenkov and Vinny's line as well. Lecavalier finally notched one on the PP but their were alot of scoring chances on even shifts as well. The play preceding the Devils first penalty before the second one that resulted in the goal Afenasenkov helped thread a pass to Lecavalier that sent him in on the goalie. It seemed like every other shift Dimitri was storming in and buying time for the forwards to get into the offensive zone by manuevering around defensemen around the wall. As this line get more familiar with each other watch out. If Afenasenkov and Fedotenko can contribute to their potential, their is no stopping the Bolts. Three legit scoring lines, a solid D and an all-star caliber goalie, Wow. I believe St. Louis was asked after the game about the immediate future of the team; whether anyone could stop Tampa. He seemed optomistic to say the least petec1978* 10-18-2003, 09:53 PM Fedotenko isn't doing jack right now. I want to see: Afanasenkov/Lecavalier/St. Louis Stillman/Richards/Modin Fedotenko/Cibak/Clymer Dirt Line -Pete Choquette Hawkeye 10-18-2003, 10:07 PM Did Torts sit Cibak for the last 1/2 of the game? I didn't see him out there. No, but his shifts were limited according to the shift chart. Oh well maybe someone can come up with a better moniker for those three, until then i will stick with CCM. I wonder why Torts sat Cibak down late in the game? his defense is very good and he does not appear to make rookie mistakes- or just mistakes that cost us. The juggling of the lines appeared to be an attempt to jump-start the offence and not aimed at sitting any one person- at least to me. Rschmitz 10-19-2003, 07:34 PM Interesting stat...AfAnsenkov recieved more ice time than any forward on the team, and second most on the team next to Boyle against the Devils. If that doesn't give the kid confidence... I want to see Feds/Richards/Stiller....Affy/Vinny/Louie....Modin/Cibak/Clymer....can't see Tort's breaking up that line third line right now. Now that I think about it that first line is probably going to stay too. Im wondering if maybe Eero gets called up if Fed's keeps underachieving also. I don't like the dirt line as it stands, I seen Andryechuck waste too many oppurtunities on the likes of Dingman. Oceanic39* 10-20-2003, 09:04 AM Glad to see you're spelling the name right now. haha If only Prospal would have taken the money to stay here. Prospal-VL-Affy Stillman-Richards-STL Modin-Cibak-Fedotenko Andreychuk-Taylor-Clymer OK. That's the last mention of "what if" with Prospal, who, by the way, finally got on the scoresheet last night and finished the evening with a terrible into-the-middle pass to a Bruin's player, who gave it to Samsonov, who scored in OT. Terrible play by Prospal in his own end. Re: Dingman... True, but there's no denying the presence he bring in his own zone along the walls. He was out there vs. Jersey up by one with less than a minute left in the game. That's a nice pat-on-the-back by Torts. Roy wouldn't have gotten that shift. Dingman is solid defensively and on the forecheck. In Torts' book, that's more of a priority than having another scorer. Rschmitz 10-20-2003, 11:20 AM I know, but once he loses it on the boards he doesn't got the speed to track down the play. Neither does Andreychuck or Taylor. Some speed on that line would do wonders; the only reason I would not move Andreychuck to Richards line is if I was afraid he would wear out over the game. Not only would you bring size and power to Richy's line but you would have your teams two best faceoff players on seperate lines. It was very effective during the playoffs IMO; funny, the team has scored 13 goals in 3 games and only given up 4 and we still think there is tweaking to be done. Afanesenkov | ||
