Hatcher vs Kronvall

Now that Hatcher is out for 4 month, will the red wing bring back N. Kronvall with the club

Hopefully. I'd like to see him play as the 6th defenseman or even get played with Lidstrom on the first pairing now that Hatcher is out.

Holland just said on 1270 that he will scout the grand rapids games and decide if he will either bring up Kronwall, or a vet depth guy, like Rivers or something.

One would think that Dandenault's ice time will increase from 9 minutes a game with Hatcher out as well.

I'm hoping Schneider gets moved up to the top pairing now, and let Dandeneult and whoever clean up on the third pairing. This injury blows, though.

It'd be nice to see Kronwall get some games in, but if he isn't going to play regularly, just bring up Rivers to sit in the pressbox every night. The Wings depth on the blueline will be paying off huge for the next 4-6 months.

Well we had seven defensemen up on the team already so I'm not too worried yet. Goes without saying that the injury sucks though.

I hear you there...it will mean more time for Dandenault, I'm sure, Jason Wooley will definitely get some time, and it's a good possibility that you will see Kronwall...let's just hope that this isn't that big a loss, not like Jiri was last season. It just means that more people will have to step up their games a little more...not that much out of the question.

I agree, I want him playing a lot of minutes in GR instead of sitting around here like Jiri Hudler is. Why is bringing up anyone even a question, just bring up someone like Rivers and play Woolley.

I'm pretty sure Rivers has already been called up. I'd rather have Kronwall get 20+ mins in GR instead of playing 6 mins every couple of games like Hudler (who should be sent down if they aren't going to play him).

They actually had the Griffins game on TV tonight...Kronwall scored a goal. GR won 4-2 over Houston.

I was kind of hoping to see Kronwall with the Wings sooner than later but since he probably wouldn't play every game, it's probably better that they did call up Rivers. Having him as a healthy scratch is pretty harmless. If the Wings lose another regular on the defense, then it would be time for Kronwall to join the team.

If it was Woolley or Dandenault it wouldn't be a disaster and Kronwall could play the minutes of a 5th or 6th defensemen. If it was Lidstrom, Chelios, Fischer or Schneider that got hurt, I'd think Holland would look to add another defenseman...maybe in a Cujo trade perhaps.

I'm not a Detroit fan but having Niklas Lidstrom with Niklas Kronwall would be awesome to watch

Let's face it: DET is in big trouble. We've lost a centerpiece at D and we don't have any guys that are shooting up the place, merely playmakers. Furthermore, Hasek still looks rusty if you ask me. My suggestion: sign Berard and keep Kronwall down in AHL, so he can develop. Try to deal Schneider for a center, after signing Berard of course. Then, in time, try to trade Cujo for a scoring forward as well.

i dont think your going to see us signing berard and trading schneider along with cujo for a big time centerman that we are lacking. I would love to see kronwall in here, but i think its better to have him playing in G.R. getting plenty of ice time, then sitting away on the bench getting very little time.

Let Kronwall stay in the minors until Christmas, then bring him up. Trade some D-man (Schneider perhaps) for a decent center and hope to god that Hatcher gets back in time for playoffs. Cujo, well.. you got me there.. :p

Berard would be nice but that would require cleaning house a bit. Getting rid of Schneider and possibly one of Dandenault/Wooley. Then you still have CuJo..... While we might have a punch of playmakers on D, how many goalscorers on D are there anyway? Schneider and Lidstrom are two of them. Then there are a select few others.
