Now we will see if over the next month or so how many of our guys can come back and do well immediately. You have got to believe that Miller and Norstrom are less than 2 weeks away from returning. Having Hatcher out in Detroit and St. Louis without MacInnis are very large holes for those teams who are prone to jump out to big leads in the standings in the past.

Detroit is a great team no question but with Stevie Y not holding up exactly like he used to, Hatcher out, and Detroit fans waiting for Datsuyk and Zetterberg to explode, they may find themselves battling a little bit harder for that top Central spot.

St. Louis has less to lose because Pronger is back in a big way. They can also have Weight play the point with Pronger if worst comes to worst. However, with Chris Osgood in nets, and the forward ranks continuing to grow (i.e. will Cajanek and Sejna blow up and knock in some goals soon?) the Blues will have to chip away just like Detroit to try and get atop the central.

If the Kings come back and keep this streak going it would certainly be nice to have the luxury of not having to play "catch up" this season as has been the case the past couple of years. You have to believe that eventually Anaheim is going to start a streak and Dallas is going to be tough, but if the Kings get their defense healthy, Cammalleri may probably get Sim's spot, and hopefully within the next few months the return of Allison and Deadmarsh, LA could be in good shape.

Miller, Norstrom, Hatcher, MacInnis, and Carney. All injured just over a week into the season. Hope these guys get back ASAP.
