Uh, that's seriously overpaying for Gauthier. Clark has almost no trade value - too many players like him in the league, and Gauthier also seems to have inflated value on these boards.

Biron is a #1 goalie, and Connolly, even coming off a horrid year, would still be of great interest to a number of teams. The only thing that I could see plausible is Noronen/Connolly for Gauthier/Clark/Trubachev, or some other upper tier Flames prospect. Perhaps Even Conroy could get his name tossed into this hat.

Yes, that is most definently fair.

It's just that Calgary isn't the type of team to switch up prospects with someone else. Reality says that players like Nystrom, Phaneuf and Ramholt play atleast 1 season with the Flames before any kind of trade takes place.

I'd love to get Connolly on this team, as I think he has a big future and just needs a change of scenery (kind of like what Marc Savard did when he was traded from NYR to Calgary) in order to elevate his status.

The Flames would not want Connolly, and the Sabres would be happy to rid themselves of that puffball.
