Lethbridge have Ashton and Olafson on the block if the return is a 17-18 year old roster player. Fistric will be in Vancouver until he leaves for Dallas camp in the summer. No way will Bonner trade his captain and the true leader of the Giants (even when Brule comes back). GBG BLEED BLUE 01-03-2006, 12:12 AM The Blades and Lorne Molleken are looking to upgrade on defence, possiably a 20 year old defencemen, I have not heard too much in terms of which players will/would be traded. Has anyone else heard anything about interest being generated about the Saskatoon Blades or any Blades players going elsewhere? I personally have my own veiw about a handful of players. The players in my mind that will not be traded are:Setoguchi,Barnes,Rabbit(I think Lorne Molleken would be have to be out of his mind if he traded the Captain and Armstrong will stay, these are some other players that I think would have a 50/50 chance that they will be traded and they might be Knudsen(I would not mind at all if he was dealt somewhere) Menei,Haw( If he was traded, it would probably be because he lacks speed and sometimes turns the puck over because he can not get back into the play fast enough),if the team was looking for a speedy defencemen he would probably be traded. I have also thought about the possiablilty of Anton Khudobin being dealt, becasue he is 19 and probably will not return for his final season because he is drafted by the Minnisota Wild, I know it would be a bad move because if he was to show up and play like he can and get on a hot streak it would be wise to keep him,and also because I do think that Kevin Armstrong is a great goalie but is not queit ready to be the starring goaltender, and next year if Khudobin does not come back,I think that Armstrong will be ready for the starting goaltending job in Saskatoon. These are just my own thoughts and opinions though. Anything can happen as this is Lorne Molleken's team and he will make moves where they are needed. He does have NHL experience so I would think that he knows how to prepare his team for the later part of the season, the playoffs and before the trade deadline on Jan 10th. membleypeg 01-03-2006, 02:03 PM Prince George has run into long term injury problems with Rogers and Dudas, and are desperate for a defenceman. Thompson has been trade happy at the deadline before, so I am expecting a deal or two. Don't be surprised to see a block buster out of PG with Rogers, Bowles, and or Drazenovich being included in the deal. monster_bertuzzi 01-04-2006, 02:33 AM Fistric will be in Vancouver until he leaves for Dallas camp in the summer. No way will Bonner trade his captain and the true leader of the Giants (even when Brule comes back). I was just gonna say - why would Vancouver, the 6th rated team in the country, trade their captain and best player. When Brule comes back this team will be SCARY. Slade in net; Fistric, Mikkelson, and Fransson on the blueline, and Brule/Bartley/Kraus/Repik up front. membleypeg 01-04-2006, 12:32 PM Prince George has run into long term injury problems with Rogers and Dudas, and are desperate for a defenceman. Don't be surprised to see a block buster out of PG with Rogers, Bowles, and or Drazenovich being included in the deal. PG is reporting that Tampa Bay officials want Rogers to have his wonky ankle operated on. This will mean Rogers will be out for the rest of the regular season. Rumours that he might be traded are now dead however, it probably means that PG will look to add another D-man at the deadline. It certainly is a sellers market for defenceman this year, with a few teams looking for help behind the blueline. I am guessing that it will cost big to get a solid D-Man this year. Round John 01-04-2006, 01:59 PM There's lots of trade talking going on, little trade doing. I think a lot of the talk is just wishful thinking by fans right now. We'll see as the deadline gets closer if it makes a few teams feel froggy and they take a chance. A lot of WHL management were in Regina for the U-17 tourney and I'm pretty sure they were talking about more than just the price of tea in China. I'll go check the Blue Jackets board. Big Daddy 01-05-2006, 07:35 PM On that note, any word on Brule? I'll go check the Blue Jackets board. My thought is Brule will be back to the Giants soon. CBJ won't give him a year towards free agency at this point. CBJ is going nowhere this year so why pay him now. The Giants will be strong with Brule in the line up as long as Brule can buy into the lunch bucket mentality. If he comes back thinking this is his team and with a primadona attitude he will in for a tough ride from everyone in the organization. monster_bertuzzi 01-06-2006, 03:19 AM My thought is Brule will be back to the Giants soon. Big Daddy 01-06-2006, 08:16 AM They have babied him since he was 14... I agree, but I think this year is different with all of the success the team is having versus prior years. The table has turned and the Giants are having success without Brule. World Jrs. is a good example of a team that buys in (Canada) and a team of primadonas (USA) | ||
