Place: Madison Sqaure Garden
Time: 7:08 PM EST

Carolina: 0-2-1-0, 1 point
New York: 0-2-1-0, 1 point

Point Leaders: Carolina: Hill (2), Vasicek (2), Cole (2). New York: Barnaby (1), Poti (1), Hlavac (1). Five others tied with 1 point.

Probable Goaltenders: Kevin Weekes, Carolina. Mike Dunham, New York.

Possible Lineup for Carolina:

Kevyn Adams -- Ron Francis -- Radim Vrbata
Craig Adams -- Rod Brind'Amour -- Erik Cole
Marty Murray -- Josef Vasicek -- Jeff O'Neill
Jaroslav Svoboda -- Eric Staal -- Jesse Boulerice

I'm not sure I agree with the total juggling of the lines, but with only four goals in three games I doubt it will hurt. My question is.. Why move Vasicek back to center when he, seemingly, has adjusted so well to playing left wing? From what I've read, that second line has been the best line so far this year.

Are the defensive pairings still in tact?

Hedican -- Markov
Wesley -- Hill
Ward -- St. Jacques

I've read conflicting opinions on the performance of St. Jacques. Some seem to think that when Boughner returns that St. Jacques should be optioned to the AHL.

Well.. Two teams looking for their first win tonight. Hopefully the Hurricanes come out on top.

Two teams desperate for not only a win but to get their offense going. The Canes have at least looked good this season so here is hoping we get our first win.

I think I would rather see St. Jacques stay in the lineup when Boughner returns but it will definitely be a tough decision to take Ward out. As big of a critic as I have been of him, he has played very well this season.

3:51 into the first period, and we score!

Cole (Brind'Amour, C. Adams)

In the second, Craig Adams got one from Cole and Brind'Amour. That line must have clicked.

Weekes with 26 saves.

Still winless after four games.

How did the new lines look?

Didn't get to see the game at its normal time and caught the accelerated replay on the MSG network tonight so it was chopped up. That being said, Cole and Brind'Amour were all over the place. The Francis line with Kevyn Adams and Vrbata had some chances and Staal skated with the two enforcers so not much of a chance to do anything there. The Vasicek line, from what I saw, wasn't much of a factor.
