Just looking at the QMJHL leading scorers and the Canucks 7th round pick from the last draft has put up very impressive stats so far :
12 gp 15 goals 8 assists for 23 pts ( almost 2 points per game )
and he is + 14
He leads the Quebec League in goals and is 3rd in points. Now I realize this is early but these are very impressive numbers for the 222nd overall pick.
Anyone know more about this guy ?

He had a solid but unspectacular prospect camp this year, I saw him a lot. He's got good offensive ability and good intensity, but he needs to add muscle and size. He's got a great hockey brain and could become a regular in the NHL, but he really needs to add muscle. He gets pushed around far too easily.

Good news. Sounds like we may have some canuck flavor on the WJC team this year. (y)
(by the way...will Koltsov be eligible to play in the WJC team this year?)
yes, if he is released by both the canucks and moose!

Nope, Koltsov is already 20 and was an 83 birthyear. You have to be of an 84 or younger birthyear to be eligable to play in the U20 WJC this year.

he wouldn't have to be released, just the nucks would have to grant him the time off. I think Edinger off washington was given time off to play for canada last year.

FP can score goals with his eyes closed, but he'll need to add some strength if he wants to play in the NHL. His 2 way game is also pretty strong. He's a great late pick.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard of the Minnesota Wild was given time off last year to play in the WJC.
