Tell again why its important to have a guy like this in the lineup?
The Caps are called for a penalty and Peat pops some guy and takes a second one? that was valuable. then a cheezy crosschecking from behind penalty when the team is behind. why?

I dunno what the Caps want out of him. He's supposed to be a fighter but they want him to do too much(as pointed out by Laughlin on air last night). He needs to be nothing more than a fighter and stop trying to make him be a Darcy Tucker type player. It's not his style.

Ya, Peat is pure enforcer and Cassidy wants him to agitate more. Was never really his style. He's more of the quiet guy who will stare people down or just pound the hell out of you if you try to take liberties with our players. Too bad that he doesn't get enough ice time to develop. Ya Peat took a couple dumb penalties, but if the Caps would just let him play every night, you know he'd learn from his mistakes and eventually turn into a serviceable 4th line enforcer/grinder. He's actually got some good defensive instincts.

From what I understand, we acquired Verot to be our future agitator. He's a bit of a defensive liability at the moment though. Another season in the AHL and maybe he'll get better. I don't see him being much more than a less-entertaining Kevin Kaminski though.

Killer was the best.

I only saw the second half of that blues game but I thought Peat looked fine out there. I mean I didn't see him do anything stupid and it looked like he was keeping it simple. I wish they would leave him out there to develop. Not every young player is going to come in and play mistake free. Its the one thing about this franchise that I don't understand. Young players are going to make mistakes. Just like young people do. If you don't make mistakes you don't know how to be good, heh.
