Amen, trigg. I see a few bright spots here though...

We've had a chance to find out the depth may be better than we thought.

Hamhuis has brought his game, and is making it VERY tough to justify sending him back down.

Brookbank hasn't been stellar, but hasn't made any glaring mistakes either...I'll take that from a "depth player".

Figure Hutch, who trotz calls "the most improved player in the organization", and was SUPPOSED to make the team prior to his pre-season concussion (according to the City paper this morning anyway) is THIRD on our depth chart at this point...I'll take "the most improved guy" as 3rd. granted, some mistakes last night, but hey...we are, after all, 3 deep into the callups already.

Another bright spot, to me, is that fact that we've played pretty decent hockey WITHOUT those guys so far...we're not crumbling like we did last year. These are, imo, BETTER hockey players in MORE CRITICAL POSITIONS than some of the early losses last year, yet we're responding better to it. Whereas last year seemed to be a team that was WORTHLESS unless 100% (or close to it) healthy, THIS year seems to have brought a team that's at least capable of being a .500 team with these injuries...and should only get truckloads better when healthy.

Finally, the injuries (thus far, knock on my wooden desk) don't seem (with the notable exception of Schnabel) to be as long term or serious as last year. We're losing guys for 2-3 weeks, not 2-3 MONTHS with concussions. :dunno:

Gotta agree though...I sure would like to see Eaton (did i just SAY that?????) and Klook get back pretty quick.

Trotz said in the pregame yesterday,

"Mark tweaked his groin a little bit in practice before the game on Thursday, and could probably play tonight, but we'd rather have him 100 percent and let him recover than risk having him hurt it more severely. If he doesn't play tonight, he'll definitely be ready by Thursday for Atlanta"

Kloucek and Allison HAVE to be close, as well.
