Jim Gray was just on ESPNews and reported the deal was official. I was also watching NBA TV, and they reported the deal was official also.

Ron Artest is going to the Kings.

Peja Stojakovic going to the Pacers.

Solid deal for Indy, i think Peja can help. But thank god this BS is over.

Improves both teams IMO, solid trade.

Indy gets addition by subtraction, while Sac may get the boost they need w/ this character....but i make out the best because i have Artest on my fantasy team and i have plenty of games to use at SF :yo:

Don't worry, I'm sure he let out a sigh of relief himself.

This may give Sac-town a big boost, but I am very shocked Bird got Peja for him. I figured Artest's value to go way down, but no, that was not meant to be.

Indy looks like a very good team now. If Artest plays to his potential in Sacremento, then they will also be good.

And then Artest found out where it was he was going:

Can you imagine having this joker on your team? I'd want to punch him in the nuts every time I saw him.

Trade nixed as per ESPN.com now.

Way to go Ron Artest......if you're going to demand a trade, you might want to provide a list of teams you'll accept a trade to, else you're just being counterproductive.

That's what it says in the article I posted. Ronny boy found out he was going to Sac-town and didn't like the prospect of that.

I hope he'll get dealt eventually. The longer he sits available, the longer Mark Cuban must resist the temptation to get his dream player, and I can't see that being any good for the Mavs. Hopefully he gets dealt soon, although that is very unlikely.

Reason number 1039 on why the NBA sucks.

This is the only league where a player would demand a trade, get his wish then refuse to report and get away with it.

Not the only...don't forget Mr. Terrell Owens.

Not a single thing I've read confirms that Artest was against going there, and in fact in that article he states that he has not said anything to that effect. The only thing I've read so far is that the Kings are "afraid" he might not want to play there and would be a distraction if he in fact doesn't.

Latest says that Artest will go anywhere and i think this trade happens mostly because the Maloof Brothers are among maybe a handful of owners that wont hold Artest initial balk against him.

Stojakovic has been my favourite player for the last 4 years, I'm happy for this trade, I never thought he fit on the Sacramento Kings, and he'll be a great replacement for what Reggie Miller provided from the outside.
