BC, i don't know if you'll read this, but i'm getting an error message when i try to connect. i've used chats in this format, so i know i'm doing it right...but it says something along the lines of "server is valid name, but..."
hmm.

I don't know a lot about computers but I do know I can't use them very well. It seems I am connected but when I type <name> <password>, I get something along the lines of it's an illegal name. So I can't log on. How do I log on?

it's saying something about "illegal socket function" or something like that, so...i guess i'll just be posting here.

Hey. I'm on the board now. Dunno what's missing there, NMK, unless it's a port number off or something.

Double check to be sure:

www.itsthesql.com (http://www.itsthesql.com)
port 4242

post again if you still have issues

Just create a new character, SNA. Syntax would be, at the opening screen:

create Seven_Nation_Army whateverpassword

Then follow the directions :)

the exact error message:

Windows Socket Error: the requested name is valid and is in the database, but does not have the correct associated date being resolved for (11004) on 'API Async lookup'

*blink*

Haven't the foggiest clue. II've been using GrMud for a year or so now, and NEVER seen that. I'll put it to the developer (he's usually on another mud I hang on) and see if he has an idea.
