Have his contract issues been settled? And when and if they are, where will be be playing? in the AHL or for the Sabres, I remeber reading that he was having a really good trainging camp, but was it good enough to warrant a look or is conditioning and NA experience in the A a certainty?

From what I've heard Yaroslavl is dragging their feet in giving Kriukov his release.

Talks continued with center Artem Kriukov, the Buffalo Sabres’ first-round draft pick in 2000. Should the Sabres and Kriukov come to terms on a contract, the highly skilled forward will join the Amerks lineup.

Kriukov has been practicing with the Amerks for four weeks but can’t play without a contract. “He wants to be here and we’d like to have him here,” said Larry Carriere, assistant to Sabres general manager Darcy Regier. “We’re continuing to work on it; that’s why he’s still here.”

The sticking point is clearly money, with Kriukov’s agent apparently asking for first-round cash even though his client has missed most of the past two seasons in Europe with injuries.
