Does anyone know how much longer McCabe is out for? I know as of October 3, he was out 3-6 weeks. I saw he was still out indefinitly. When is he expected to return? Thanks.

Lets face it,Smith was too in love with Euros. They are expensive, inconsistent and often dont play well in the playoffs. While there are many good euros in the nhl, often they are expensive, holdouts or dissappear come playoff time.Maybe Smith learned a lesson here.I wonder if he will ever get a Gm job again,he had a terrible record in Chicago.

What, per se is a "euro"? A form of currency?

Maybe not. They may decide to keep him in the line up instead of Berg, or they could use Berg, Marchment and Kondratiev as rotatoing #5 and #6 guys, each playing 2-3 games then sitting 1-2. He probably will be sent down, but I don't think its a forgone conclusion

Theres no use of keeping max around on the big club if there are just going to rotate him in and out of the line-up. I would keep him up over berg

pinto80 - Theres no point keeping Kondratiev if hes going to sit in the press box for most of the time, but he's playing 4 games, then sitting 1 maybe 2 its fine, probably better to him keep getting the NHL experience. Bergs ok, not that good and taking him out isn't an issue, and Marchments older and could probably use the days off.

I agree that Max should go down to the Rock. Pilar will be coming back soon and will become the #7 after his conditioning stint. I would look for JF to pull a trade soon thinning out the herd of defensive prospects.

I think Chartier will be traded for an AHL caliber decent forward. Turon and Kelly should go down to Greensboro to get serious playing time. Perrott should go down, sma ewith Stajan and give the 4th line winger spot to Poni and Belak .

Why would you send Stajan down, hes been on the best Leaf fowards this year? Generally you want to send rookies who can't handle the NHL down, not the ones who playing very well.

If the Leafs are going to trade some of their prospects I'd like to see them get that top defenseman they need.

Mogilny and McCabe are playing tonight, at least according to Bowen.

I don't necessarily want him sent down. I think his development would be fine either playing a lot of minutes on the rock or under 10 minutes in the NHL. He is mature enough to maximize benefit either way, I think.

It's just that the baby leafs really need some help right now.
