Are you holding the other GM's hostage, forcing them to make these deals ???

If you want Conroy and the Flames #1, then say good bye to Gomez & Friessen or Lagnenbrunner.

I'm not sure of you could get a lock of Mike Ricci's hair for the last offer.

The 2nd offer is the only one that's close, and even there Oilers get hosed.

Since this is nothing but a fantasy thread, here goes:

Kovalchuk Thornton Bertuzzi
Gaborik Forsberg Hejduk
Naslund Modano Heatley
Kariya Zetterberg Iginla

Lidstrom Gonchar
Zubov Niedermayer
Pronger Bouwmeester

Brodeur
Turco

and a whole backload of #1 picks. Fire up Eastside, turn the trade difficulty slider all the way down, and let the good times roll!

I doubt Gomez and a 2nd gets Doan, let alone having the pick coming our way. I would love to see him here, but it'll cost a lot.

God another defensive forward....

Can't we just get a PURE goal scorer...

Shane Doan is not a "defensive" forward. Stephane Yelle is a "defensive" forward. Doan is a big guy who can play physical and score, while still being responsible defensively.

What pure scorer would you advocate to fit into this system?

Doan has 10 points in 8 games with 36 shots on goal already and is leading his team playing very well with Nagy. Points-wise, both Gomez and Doan were roughly a wash last season. I think Doan will also bring us better special teams points then what Gomez will continue to put up here. Whatever it takes to bring him here, I'm all for it.

Paul Kariya, Peter Forsberg...

Yes I know, they aren't pure goal scorers. I don't think there are too many pure goal scorers anymore. But you catch my drift.

Point taken. I'd rather have Gomez stay and get a someone he can play with, though.

That team has almost no size or grit at all in the forward ranks. Actually I'm not sure there's a single player that breaks 6feet among the forwards. It'd get pushed around like nobody's business.
