BeatsPerMinute 03-22-2006, 06:16 AM Yeah so I went, and most of these new yorkers wanted my head when I walked in. It sucked yeah cuz we lost, but when I came out, I saw the buses. I asked the security guy and he told me it would take about 20 minutes for the HAbs players to start coming out. So i waited.
First out came Koivu - He looked PISSED! He signed a few autographs, but never made to where I was, looks like he was mad from another crap game.
THen came Huet - Just like I expected him to be, he was shy, quiet. So after he signed my ticket, I asked him to shake his hand, and really quietly he answered oui and offered me his hand...Good grip this guy! Then i took a picture with him. He got on the bus right after, so i told him to keep it up in french.
Then Perezhogin came, he signed my paper, he didnt say much.
Same with Todd Simpson, he signed then left. I didnt even know it was him till i saw 24 nxt to his name.
After that Souray came out. I took a picture with him. He is HUGE!!! cant even imagine him on skates! He looked like a nice guy but didnt say much, though he thanked the guy nxt to me for tellin him he got a great shot.
Then Garth Murray came - He signed my thing. Then a rangers fan nxt to me asked him if he wanted to come bak to NY. ''No, I'm good here boss'', then turned his bak and left. I told him that was good to hear.
Then Ryder and Ribeiro came. I told RYder hes doin alright (but he should do better) and he signed my thing. Then Ribs, with a black hat (kinda weird) and a pink chemise (how do u say this in english?) and pink tie. Gotta picture with him.
I got Bégin's autograph and picture with him. Of all the players, he talked the most (in french of course). He was nice, and i told him he played a good game.
Then Bob Gainey signed my thing too. Didnt say much, just your welcome. I got to look at all three of his chins from close up, thats basically it.
And finally Kovalev - The whole time he only spoke Russian to the guy next to him ( who ppl say it turned out to be Nemchinov, but i cant confirm that). He barely looked at us, just signed the papers. Then I asked him to sign a second paper. He wouldnt, instead he took my pen and signed someone elses, then gave me back the pen. When i asked for a picture, he didnt want to. Oh well, I still enjoyed standing in his presence...
I also saw Komi, Zed, Rivet, but they all didnt make it to where i was.
All in all, the after game was Much better than the game itself :) :)
Maithz 03-22-2006, 06:47 AM You're lucky man ! I would probably sell my mother to have this autograph and talk with them ! the only autograph I got is one of Anthony Telford ( Ex pitcher of Montreal Expos )

franhuck 03-22-2006, 12:32 PM must have a big thing to have that many players sign it.
SharkGirl27 03-22-2006, 12:37 PM must have a big thing to have that many players sign it.
:biglaugh:
I am surprised that the NY fans were that bad though, I was born and raised there, but a Habs fan all my life, never had any problems with the fans there. The fans in Tampa though, that's another story.
Shabutie 03-22-2006, 12:37 PM I have a few questions. First how do you say Keep it up in french? (I'm french and I have no idea) Second, where do you wait for players to sign your stuff is it behind the arena and how many minutes after the game about? (you said 20 but was that directly after the game).

its right behind the arena. on the island the players park in the tunnel and there is no room for the visiting teams bus so they pull it up right outside gate 1 on the sidewalk. there is about 50 feet from the building to the bus and some gates set up for the players to walk there. they do it for every team, most teams a few players will stop and sign autographs, but very rarely do as many players stop as the original poster said. the habs are definitely one of the better signing/fan friendly teams in the league.

They wouldn't do this at the Scotia place? or any other Arena? I'm just wondering cuz I might stick around after a game sometime.

as far as I know it's only on long island. i've been to most the arenas in the league and long island is the only place i've seen anything like this. in tampa if the team stays after the game most of the players will walk back to their hotel though.

I went to a playoff game in Long Island in 1993 with my brother. We were both wearing Habs jerseys. At one point in the game, the whole crowd was chanting ***hole, ***hole, and it was definately directed at us. So, I'm not surprised at all.
moshedw 03-22-2006, 01:45 PM Hey I was at the game with 5 habs fans with jerseys and all, we got it pretty bad from our surrounding Isle faithfulls in the upper bowl. (was not too high up, pretty small bowl)
It definitely wasnt as bad as game 4 in the Boston- habs playoff comeback series. I hardly came out of that game alive

Yup. I was at the playoff game in Boston Garden right after Roy came back from appendicitis and made something like 62 saves. I was wearing a Muller shirt, and Muller scored in overtime. I ran for my life.

Actually I had made a sign(poster) and since we werent winning, i didnt have a chance to really take it out. So i rolled it up, and they signed on the bak of it.
BeatsPerMinute 03-22-2006, 05:52 PM Here are the pictures...i still havent got the one with huet from my friend yet.

B/c yesterday was a promotion day or something...plus i got them on a student rush ticket, which brings it to half price off the discount. I think on any other day, the tickets would go for 70$ or sumthing. not a bad deal.
Took the pics with a camera phone, so they're not great...but its much better than nothing!
zarathustra1900 03-22-2006, 06:27 PM Thanks for taking time to post them...cute girl also...adorable smile :-)
TheDamned 03-22-2006, 06:51 PM lol they dont smile at all, i guess it would've been different if they would have won
moshedw 03-22-2006, 07:01 PM Hey I got 10 buck tickets too, had a good time but there is NOTHING like a habs game at the Bell Centre. I would rather pay upwards of 50 bucks for nosebleeds at the Bell Centre then be at the Nassau fish bowl, the atmosphere in that place was gloomy.
BeatsPerMinute 03-22-2006, 08:11 PM Thanks for taking time to post them...cute girl also...adorable smile :-)

Purely innocent remark.....merely a compliment. I am not a fish below the waist and man above ok?
Hate to hear about idiots like that at games...burns me up simply the thought..ignorant jerks. I hate that nonsense.
For me, things like that ruin the entire experience. I have no patience for these people....especially when you are with someone, date, girl, girl/friend....
Hope it didn't ruin yours....
Does this occur at Bell Center as well out of curiosity? That is, if you are not wearing a Leaf's jersey...
ciao from Italy

No...it was only bad at the beginning, before the game started...turns out they were in the wrong seats!
people only yelled for us to sit down after we stood when the habs scored.
