Hey, I would like to do some checking up on a hometown kid. If those of you who follow the Amerks could tell me how Paetsch is playing down in the AHL so far, I would be greatful.

Thanks in advance.

He's played in 4 of 7 games, has 1 assist and is a -1.

I also believe that he's been used at wing a bit in Rochester.

Personally, I liked what I saw in training camp. But we shall see how things work out in the long run.

he missed the first couple while ironing out a contract, and has been in the lineup at least as the pp qb and occasional shifts on the wing when he's not playing a regular shift on D.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've often wondered if he would be better suited to a wing at a higher level of play. He has got great offensive instincts, but is not real strong as a D in his own end.

Oh, and just so you know, in the WHL, he had a habit of playing alright in the regular season, and then stepping it up a level in the playoffs.

I hope he continues to make our small community proud. LeRoy, SK, our hometown, has about 500 people, so, everyone knows everyone. Its nice to be able to get info other than just stats, and pass it along. Expect me to beg for updates here and there.

Thanks again.

Looks like he's fitting in at wing.

Amerks rookie Nathan Paetsch nearly became the hero with two seconds left in overtime, but his cannon slap shot from the top of the right circle clanked off the cross bar.

“That’s just bad luck, I guess,” said Paetsch, whose strong forechecking helped create the tying goal by Norm Milley at 13:01 of the second period

I had a chance to watch last night's game and Paetsch's goal was a beauty. He showed great patience and lifted it to the top corner like it was second nature.

Was Paetsch playing a regular shift on PK?

Good question. Unfortunately, I don't have your answer. :dunno: Sorry.

That's a true statement. He was playing wing last Saturday here in Cleveland. As far Paetsch defensively, he isn't super super active back there.

He was out there a couple of times on PK. He did a decent job.

Any news on Paetsch? I noticed he hasnt played in awhile. Just checking on a former Caps pick...I always liked his game just the Caps didnt see in the same light I suppose.

I've only seen him play once but on a recent broadcast the Amerks announcers said they were very pleased with the level of grit Paetsch has played with, which I guess was a knock against him coming in.
