Can anyone tell me how he's playing? He seems to have dropped off all the prospect lists this year. My understanding is that he was unwilling to come back and play defence last year. Is that still the case? I see from his stats that he has 5 points in 8 games, but is a team low -2

He dropped off of most lists because of his dissapointing performance last season. He had an OK prospect camp and rookie tourney and did well during training camp. But he is still lacking many aspects of an NHL-caliber game and was sent back to Manchester. To date, he has 2 goals, 4 assists, -2, and only 14 shots in 9 games with Manchester as he has continued his lackluster play both in the defensive and offensive zones.

The plus-Lehoux played well (for Lehoux) this weekend in that he actually got down low in the offensive zone at least once in each game, layed a body-check on the D-man, forced the turnover and made nice passes in front.
The minus-During Sunday's game, in the Monarch's offensive zone, the puck went to the boards and Lehoux had at least a step, more like two on the defender getting to the puck, realizing that if he beat the man there he was going to get hit, he friggin pulled-up, got beat to the puck, and tries a friggin poke check on the guy LAMO big time. The people in our section were all over "YANNI" for this one!!!

We should unload his sorry arse already! He's not even in the Kings top 20 prospects. When Steckel and Karlsson and Kanko and all those guys get into Manchester next year and the year after, do we really need Le-poo taking up a roster spot? Let's banish him to Edmonton.....for a 9th round pick! LoL! that'll learn him!

What line is he playing on? Tonight he got two points , a goal and an assist. He got the lone goal on his sole shot. This guy needs to get his stuff together or he will be out of hockey all together.

During the goal you a referring to he was centering Giuliano and Welch when he one timed a pass from Giuliano. Lehoux's assist came when Scott Barney stuffed home a Lehoux rebound at the end of a Monarchs power play (technically, both teams were at full strength but Albany was really just comming out of the box).
Also, in the Sunday edition of the Manchester Union Leader, (www.theunionleader.com) half way through the "Cammalleri sparks Monarchs" story regarding the Monarchs 5-1 win over Portland on Saturday night; "John Tripp figured in on all three Monarchs tallies in a "shock and awe" first period Monarchs salvo. Tripp credited Yanick Lehoux for making several big hits that popped the puck onto dangerous Monarchs sticks"......
As far as what line he's playing on, with Cammalleri in Manchester the lines have been shuffled a bit and the first line is Cammo, centering Tripp and Clarke. Second is Kelly, with Barney and Rosa, Third is Lehoux, with Welch and Giuliano or Lehoux with Flinn and Giuliano (still some shuffling on the 3rd and 4th lines).
At the risk of sounding like I'm starting a "bandwagon" I will say that in his last 4-5 games Lehoux has been playing a good two-way game. He has been more physical and honestly, putting him with Welch and Guiliano these last few games may have forced him to work harder defensively given that his wings just don't quit. It would be very obvious if he didn't bust-butt and get back. Basically, the way I see this combo is as a high energy line with Lehoux as the scorer. So for now, I think Lehoux has earned himself his "moment in the spotlight". How long the light shines is yet to be seen.
Hope the info helps.
