Do you think Theodore could come to Colorado? and who would we have to give up?

I Heard he was one of the possible goalies we could aquire

They'll probably want Tanguay, who I'd prefer to keep now since Forsberg might be retiring soon and Sakic seems to be on the decline in a hurry.

Ouch, bad timing.

Theo looks to be in tip top shape and ready to repeat his 2002 antics. He's already leading netminders in most statistics and is the sole reason the Habs are playing above .500 hockey, beating teams such as the Ottawa Senators and long time rivals Boston. The Habs know that the Avs and Aebischer aren't meeting eachother's required demands so far, and knowing Gainey, he's already prepared for a Laxcroix phone call right now, waiting patiently to scare him away with rediclously high demands. He could really ask for the world right now, don't be surprised if Gainey wants Hedjuk and Morris to be included, that is, if he's even open to discuss Theo's marketvalue.

Really bad timing. Theo = doing supremely well, Aebischer = doing inconsistant.

Since the media seems to be keeping all that legal stuff with Theo's family under wraps and Jose has had a good start in Montreal, there is NO WAY that Bob Gainey trades him unless he wants to be tared and feathered and run out of town.

If you want to 'speculate' on possible goalies coming to Colorado, I believe Luongo could be the guy. Keenan seems to have opted for Steve Shields in the past few games and even pulled Luongo after a rough start one night. Whether a deal for Luongo can be pulled off remains to be seen but regardless, don't expect to see anything before december/january unless we start losing like 75% of all games in november.

i dont really see any point in getting Luongo, he like Aebischer has no playoff experience, i rather just stick with Abby, unless we can get a proven veteran, thou Theodore isnt exactly proven

Keenan does that with all his goalies. Luongo is a HUGE part of Florida's future.

This would be the best possible guy to get IMO. Unfortunatley it's probably also the most unlikely guy we will get, as almost every other GM wants him too, and even though Iron Mike has a history against goalies, I dont' think Florida would be dumb enough to give him up. They have built around him well the last few years, and I doubt they would give up the guy that will make them strong contender within the next few years. Plus it would probably take a guy like Hejduk to get him, and I don't think we should give him up for anybody, as he is too much a part of OUR future. I can't believe there was that stupid trade rumor going around last season, about trading Hejduk straight up for Gomez. I even gave a mouthfull about it on Hockey Trade Rumors message board, saying that Hejduk would become a 50 goal scorer as soon as the end of the year, if he could get hot enough down the stretch. What a bad trade that would have been. If PL would have made that, I would have condemmed him for life.

I was Forsberg21, but I haven't posted there since last season. Kinda got tired of it, lost intrest. Like the idea of sharing my opinions on the Avs with mostly Avs fans on here anyway. I'm not really too interested in talking about other teams. What's your name over there?

Theodore has been even more inconsistent than Aebischer has, some nights he is playing insane hockey and some he looks plain average. He has played well in most of Montreals wins this season and have definately shown his ability to steal games (But giving him the sole credit for Montreals wins this season is going overboard. There are a lot of guys on that team that really stepped it up). But overall Aebischer has been more consistant of the two, but without showing the ability to steal games yet. Aebischer is leading every single statistics category over Theodore.

Aebischer hasn't been phenomenal or anything (but definately been playing well most of the time) and he does give away too many rebounds.

I think Theodore is a very good goaltender and he would be an upgrade over Aebischer, but the picture you are painting up has very little to do with reality. I don't really see Theodores trade value as increased compared to the summer. It always has been pretty high and I expect it would be if he was traded.

Anyway, I don't think there is any chance of him being traded to the Avs because of the Roy trade. Montreal fans would never accept a trade unless the Avs overpay so much it would kill off every cup chance the team has - which would make the trade pointless). Theos play has very little to do with it, the history between the teams has.

Not really, look at my join date. This has been the only message board I've been in since then. :rolly:

I've basically forgotten what I remembered in HTR and Wowhockey...:yo:

I haven't seen any of Montreals games, but looking at goals scored... 5 in the last four games... or is it 4 in the last five games? Any-whaay... doesn't look like Jose is getting much help from his offence.
