How is this guy doing this year? I really hope this guy doesnt come back to haunt us. I hate trading youth with great potential for veterans who will get over the hill in a couple of years. As much as I like Barnes, i wish we had our prospect and possible future sniper back.

Hell no, I'd trade 5 Mike Ryans for just one Stu Barnes any day and twice on sunday's. Mike Ryan is still a project and has some big steps to make, we definitely ripped the Sabres in that deal.

Funny coming from the guy who said this was a horible deal for the Stars at the time of the trade. ;)

Also the deal was a salary dump for the Sabres. Barnes salary was too high for Buffalo for what he brought. Don't take it wrong, the guy is all heart with some skill, but the Sabres wanted to move salary and have youth coming up.

I guess we'll figure out if we really got robbed a few years from now, won't we? I hope you honestly don't think Barnes will continue his hot start throughout the whole year because he won't. He'll score 20 at best. If Ryan pans out, he could be just as good, if not better, than Barnes in his prime. So don't say you guys "definitely ripped us off," because you know you have no proof of that and you only make yourself look stupid.

Stu Barnes is a quality player and the type of guy Dallas needs right now. While I had high hopes for Mike Ryan, I'm glad Dallas did the trade.

Hot start or not for Barnes, its what he does away from the puck as much as what he does wih it.
