DBL 05-09-2006, 05:54 PM Anyone know how Kessel played today? He didn't play much. The little I saw of him he looked alright for an 18 year old. He didn't do anything special, but he showcased his speed a couple times. The goal he scored was because of his speed. He got up in the play fast creating a 2on1 allowing Slater to get a decent shot off. Kessel then jumped on the puck putting it in, although it was already going into the net. When he had the puck it didn't look like he had much creativity or hockey sense to me, but it was only one game in limited playing time. He seems more of a blaze down the wing shot on net type of player.
