Could this mean Steve McLaren will be called up to St. Louis for the Canucks game? McLaren vs Bertuzzi dropping the gloves at center ice works for me.
Thursday nite could be the game of the year, especially if Jackman returns.

Anyword if Jackman will be back?
degroat* 11-05-2003, 06:21 PM Latest word on Jackman from Derrick Goold was that he probably won't be back.

Because we all know Bertuzzi is willing to drop the gloves right?

Bertuzzi shouldn't be dropping the gloves with the likes of McLaren. That's not a good tradeoff. I don't mind if Pronger or Tkachuk challenge Bertuzzi to a fight, but no way should Bert leave the ice for 5 minutes with a guy who'll only see 4 or 5 minutes a game.
That's like expecting Pronger to fight Peter Worrell of Colorado the next time the Blues and Avs hook up. I'm sure you wouldn't want Pronger off the ice for 5 minutes with Worrell. Fair trade would be if Blake or Foote fights Pronger.
Talented and tough players should only fight equally talented and tough players. Guys like Iginla, Geurin, Nolan, Thornton, Bertuzzi, Pronger, etc. fight amongst themselves while guys like Domi, McCarthy, Low, Worrell, Laraque do the same. All about trade offs.

We will have to be very careful tommorow because Vancouvers PP is deadly we have to stay out of the box. Has anyone heard if Jackman will play tommorow?

What coach would not go NUTS if his Powerforward or Physical Dman fought the Enforcer of the opposition, unless it was to stand up for a teammate?
Like I said in the post, Worrell vs. Pronger is a fair trade off for the Blues? Come on... 30 minute Dman for an enforcer who plays single digit minutes a game?
I'm thinking the PF's and PD's are smart enough to not allow themselves to be taken off the ice for 5 minutes with the opposition enforcer. They're way too valueable to the team to sit for 5 minutes without at least taking someone of equal value to the opposition with them.

Street Hawk you are 100% correct. If a "star" drops his gloves with a guy of less importance to their team, he has just penalized his own team.
