Salmonsson was supposed to undergo surgery in November but is now healthy and dif management hope and think he can play the rest of the season without risking anything.
This is obviously great news for Salmonsson, for Djurgården and the Swedish U18-team.

Great news!
Does this also mean he'd play on the U20 team in Finland?
Possibly alongside Alex?

No. He has just been cleared to play hockey so it is my guess he'll have to wait a week or two before playing a game. Since Karjala Cup will be held this week he might not miss many games, if any.
Also, I'm not sure he'd be ready for the U20 team just yet. Obviously.. if he plays great in November and December he should get a shot in the WJC but it is perhaps more realistic that he'll not make the team.

Most likely not, since they probably assumed he would be
injured, and couldn´t participate. They would have to send someone home then, they have already started to prepare for the tournament.
Alexander Steen will not participate either, he will play with the real National Team in Karjala Cup.
Its a pretty weak team they are using in U-20, to test a lot of new players btw.

You're telling me that Steen won't play in the WJC this december?

Haha no. Sorry, I misinterpreted your message :)
Thought you meant the U-20 tournament which is held in Finland.

I really wonder how he can have gone from "needs an operation" to "back in action" in just a few weeks. Sure he is young and should heal fast, but does this mean that they were wrong or are they taking a chance on his shoulder to hold together?
I hope he takes it easy to start with, maybe warm up by playing a few games with DIF's J20 superelit squad, then moving over to Almtuna for a few games before he returns to full SEL action. Anyways, it's going to be great to see him back in action soon, especially since Djurgården has got their game going (except for the last game.. bleh.. ).
