Last I read was that he was on first line but I don't see him on the stat sheets much.
So what's up with Fojtik (Victoriaville)Red Baron 11-05-2003, 02:49 PM Last I read was that he was on first line but I don't see him on the stat sheets much. Lukko4 11-10-2003, 05:36 AM Fojtik was released yesterday. Apparently he was offered to all the teams in the league and there were no takers. He and his agent are now looking for a Junior A team. The Tigres just didn't use him right and he never really got a fair chance to play his game. Now the Tigres are looking to bring back 20 year old Marty Kasik who is playing in the Czech 1.Liga with HC Prostejov. Lukko4 12-02-2003, 06:14 PM Josef Fojtik has signed on with the Central Junior 'A' Hockey League's Pembroke Lumber Kings. In his first game he was held scoreless, but managed to pick up 16 PIM. logger444 12-03-2003, 03:54 AM So tell me again why Canadian teams should be giving up developmental spots to Euros who can't make it? I think he ended up in Pembroke because they struggle more than most Jr 'A' teams to keep 19/20 year olds. (lack of higher education facilities). Red Baron 12-09-2003, 09:59 AM Two spots for Euros is fine with me. Most of the time they enhance the makeup of the team by bringing intangibles that the team needs. My issue is why giving spots to ANY players that don't have their head screwed on right. That is the job of the Scouts and I see that they fail a lot of times in getting the right players. Just today there was an article released about the rampant drug use amont QMJHL players and the league does nothing about it. Why should the families that send their kids to these teams endure any additional anxiety? Teams and the league should take the responsibility for administering drug testing on these teams and scouts need to work harder into recruiting motivated players and not head cases and drug use sympathizers. So tell me again why Canadian teams should be giving up developmental spots to Euros who can't make it?
