Yeah, this guy is a force when he is on the ice....his presence is felt on the ice in every move he makes, just ask Eric Lindros st_roland 11-05-2003, 10:11 PM Man, Stevens is an amazing body-checker. Two checks that come to mind are Lindros and Ron Francis in the playoffs 2 or 3 years ago. After the hit Francis looked like bambi on ice, trying to get up and falling down several times. I've never seen clean open ice hits like he delivers it! once i saw a slomo clip a forward (cant remember who it was) skated with the puck towards stevens. stevens lined him up skating backwards and the moment the forward turned his eyes to the puck for a second stevens changed direction and hitted the guy with his shoulder. it looked like the guy ran at full speed against a wall.
