When Healthy. And when i say elite, i mean he can hang with the best of them. Too bad he missed some games this season or else he could possibly be in the MVP hunt.
Anyone disagree?

Griffey JR Still An Elite Player?NassauIsles82* 06-29-2006, 07:32 PM When Healthy. And when i say elite, i mean he can hang with the best of them. Unholy Diver 06-29-2006, 09:24 PM no, Griffey is basically a shell of his former self, the injuries have just taken too much of a toll on his body, too bad too, he could have made a real run at Hank Aaron's record Teemu 06-29-2006, 10:36 PM Its hard to label him an elite player now that he's pretty much forbidden to play good defense or make risky offensive plays, but he's still a serious threat when he's swinging the stick Jaysfanatic* 06-29-2006, 11:06 PM I'll always love the guy. Biggsy 06-29-2006, 11:27 PM If he can stay healthy then ya forsure he can hit 30+ Hrs still the reds are in a WC spot right now and 1 game outta first in the Central so i hope he stays healthy i dont mind the reds and ive always loved Griffdog smoothest swing in the league Enoch 06-29-2006, 11:27 PM He can still rake, but yes...he is a shell of what he used to be. Motown Beatdown 06-30-2006, 07:51 AM What exactly happened to him, anyway. Nothing, natures course. He aged like most players that weren't injecting themselves with horse roids. Biggsy 06-30-2006, 10:45 PM He can still rake, but yes...he is a shell of what he used to be. Yeah i know i wish he could be like his old self hit 56 Bombs again man he had some great seasons in Seattle intill he broke his arm etc PolishBingo 07-06-2006, 03:29 PM Griff is a popular but no longer an elite player. I wish the Reds could talk him out of center field and move him over to right so he wouldn't have to run as much. TheDanceOfMaternity 07-18-2006, 12:41 PM Griff is a popular but no longer an elite player. . And for that reason I totally felt that there was a real lack of depth at the all star game last week. There's just no true Griffey/Bonds/McGwire type players anymore Tuggy 07-18-2006, 12:44 PM He's still a decent hitter and good outfielder, but in no way an elite player. Age happens. BuppY 07-18-2006, 12:48 PM He was one fun guy to watch when he was with Seattle. blackhawksmaniac 07-18-2006, 03:07 PM Griff is a popular but no longer an elite player. I wish the Reds could talk him out of center field and move him over to right so he wouldn't have to run as much. Or trade him to an AL team and only DH bfire 07-19-2006, 05:47 AM The Eric Lindros of Baseball, but, he can still play amazing when healthy Sens Rule 07-27-2006, 01:14 AM The Eric Lindros of Baseball, but, he can still play amazing when healthy Hardly. He played a lot more years than Lindros has. And he actually is considered on of the top 50 players ever by many and is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Lindros may not make the Hall of Fame. | ||
