Griffey JR Still An Elite Player?

When Healthy. And when i say elite, i mean he can hang with the best of them. Too bad he missed some games this season or else he could possibly be in the MVP hunt.

no, Griffey is basically a shell of his former self, the injuries have just taken too much of a toll on his body, too bad too, he could have made a real run at Hank Aaron's record

Its hard to label him an elite player now that he's pretty much forbidden to play good defense or make risky offensive plays, but he's still a serious threat when he's swinging the stick

And for that reason I totally felt that there was a real lack of depth at the all star game last week. There's just no true Griffey/Bonds/McGwire type players anymore

He's still a decent hitter and good outfielder, but in no way an elite player. Age happens.

He was one fun guy to watch when he was with Seattle.

Hardly. He played a lot more years than Lindros has. And he actually is considered on of the top 50 players ever by many and is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Lindros may not make the Hall of Fame.
