According to the N&O, Erik Cole is not likely to play tonight after spraining his right elbow. Hopefully he only misses this game, if that. He did have a four-game point streak going for him.

Another streak still has a chance to stay alive. Staal's three game point streak.

Hopefully the Hurricanes do better than the Penguins did last night against this Lightning team. I'm sure they will, but I can't say I'm optimistic for a win.

I'll be listening in via web cast.

Jaro Svoboda gets the call today and will likely see either 3rd or 4th line icetime. Kevyn Adams probably jumps up a line to play with Brind'Amour i'd suspect.

Hopefully Tampa comes in sleepy after that huge win against Pittsburgh, it's easy to get stagnant after such a rout.

Lightning score on the powerplay. On a too many men on the ice penalty. :shakehead

Cory Stillman 8 (powerplay) (Dan Boyle, Vincent Lecavalier)

Is it just me, but does it seem whenever the Canes do that infraction the other team always score? Maybe it's just me...

My God! Outshooting them 21-5, not even half of a game yet. Still, 1-0 Lightning. Damn you, Grahame. Damn you.

Marty Murray is finally credited with his first goal of the season. The lone assist went to Sean Hill.

Score tied 1-1 with time dwindling in the 2nd.

I predicted a 3-3 game earlier. I stand by that. Look for the puck to go in the net in the 3rd. These two teams want to hammer each other, and Grahame can only be this lucky for so long. That guy is facing some serious rubber, I have no idea how he's keeping it out.

Hurricanes still dominating in shots.. 35-19. Vrbata leading the way with six.

Game ends in a 1-1 tie, its a game we really should have taken to be honest. If we get this many shots on net, it's supposed to be in the bag. I hate giving up the PP goal and losing because of a mental error by Vrbata.

I "watched" the game on Yahoo. Why does it seem like both teams went into a defensive shell in the 3rd period? People paid good money to watch teams try to tie each other. Maurice and Tortorrelli needs to be shot.

What did he do?

What did he do?

Vrbata was the extra man who jumped on the ice. He served the bench minor because he went out with the 4th line I think.

Ahh. Misfortunate mistake indeed then. Although, I don't think blame can be placed solely on him. Not on a mistake in the first period of a tied game.

It was terrible, the Canes were content to go to overtime. This game started off very exciting for a Canes fan with the way they outshot the lightning. However it ended up having the life sucked out of it from fear of not getting a point.
