With forward Steve Thomas coming aboard today, the Wings sent center Jiri Hudler to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Yeah, hope he stays there for awhile so that he can have a stable team in which to grow.

It's the best for Jiri to go down and get to play in more situations than third line 5-on-5 and occasionally the second PP unit. He should stay down there pretty much until a regular forward gets hurt and he can play a full time for role in their place. It's not good for him to be a healthy scratch or just play 5 minutes a night. I'm fine with the decision.

Did Bootland travel with the team to Dallas?

Jiri is better off in GR getting his game more developed. He tried hard to hold his own, but he's just not ready.

I don't know if Bootland traveled with them or not. I guess we'll find out for sure tonight.

Bootland will have to play tonight. With Hudler goon, McCarty didn't make the trip. And Thomas might not play, they are gonna need them

Lewis should just play Bootland around 10 minutes with Draper and Maltby.
The two shifts they had against chicago Booter looked good on that line.

Bootland did play. And picked up a point.

However, I was watching the score.ca and it said Hudler was called up again. Wha?? He's not a yo-yo. Guess someone forgot to tell Holland and Lewis.

This situation was ridiculous weeks ago, it's beyond ridiculous now. Why can't Hudler be left in GR for a while? I guess Lewis has 1:35 of ice time that he needs filled...

Good Christ, give it to the Williams-Bootland-Thomas line...they worked well together. Or give it to Pasha and let him build up his time. Don't waste it on Hudler...let him go back to GR for Pete's sake.

This is absolutley mind blowing, how can anyone say that Lewis is actually competant after all this? I still dont think he should be coaching the wings.

It looks like ESPN has it backwards. According to GR's official site, Hudler was sent down to them Wednesday night, not recalled.

Sometimes i keep forgetting hudler is only 19...
