Same as the NL thread...who do you see coming out of the AL?

I'm voting Tigers, with an honorable mention to the Yankees. If the Twins get in, I could see them doing some damage as well, but...I don't see them getting in.

There are so many good teams in the AL right now, it's a tossup who could win. Tigers have the best record in baseball so they can not be overlooked, but then you have the Yankees, A's, White Sox, Red Sox who could all compete as well. At this point and as the playoffs get closer, it's hard to pick one team and be confident they'll get there. Whoever wins the ALCS will win the world series.

I think it will be one of three Central teams.

The Yankees and Red Sox have starting pitching issues, especially Boston. And I see some serious chemistry issues with the Yanks once eveyone gets healthy, just not enough AB's to go around. The Blue Jays are totally out of it and shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread.

The Angels and A's just dont have the bats, Barry Zito, John Lackey, Dan Haren, Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana are all great starters, but they dont have the bats to back them up for October baseball.

If Liriano's ok, Twins. If not, White Sox.

I'm biased, but I'm voting the Yankees. The only 2 teams that I think can really beat the Yankees in a 7 game series are Detroit and Minnesota because they have the exceptional pitching to handle the Yankees lineup.

Obviously lightning can strike (and Anaheim always has our number) but right now things are looking good for the Bronx Bombers.

Right now, the Yankees are playing the best baseball, but that could easily change...the Sox were playing like the best team in baseball for a good while until the game right before the All-Star Break, then everything started to go to hell with Bad pitching, bad managing. bad injuries, and now they just lost 5 of the last 8 to Cleveland, Tampa, and Kansas City.

Whenever Varitek and Wakefield get back, I hope they'll get back to the play that got them a lead in the division, and not the one that let the Yankees take a 2.5 game lead

Color me unhopeful. They just seem like they have too many SP issues coinciding with injuries.

I went with Detroit, hopefully they can carry their success into the playoffs.
