I posted this on the trade board but I wanted to see what isles fans thought of these two trades that I came up with:

isles trade Parrish and a #2 to calgary for R. Warrener and
isles trade Hamrlik and Papineau to colorado for Tanguay and J Boycheck

With these two moves along with waiving Weimer the isles save 4.6 million dollars. We get a young scoring LW to play with Peca and a tough minded dman to clear the crease come playoff time. The Lines:

Kvash Yash Czer
Tang Peca Hunter
Blake Scatch Asham
Berg Bates Godard

Jonsson Aucoin
Niinamaa Warrener
Dipietro

What to you think??

Since Tanguay is leading the league in points, I don't think the Avs are going to move him. And if they did, it's going to be for a good young goaltender like Martin Biron or Jose Theodore.

And I'm not crazy about giving up any draft picks at this point. If they are dead set on building through the draft, they need every pick they can get.

Those are some nice lines though, but it ain't gonna happen.

You do not get Tanguay for that exchange. Train's left the station on that kid's availability; he is maturing into a bonfide star. Besides Avs add salary (in pending RFA Hamrlik) and give up a solid prospect in Boychuk. And their current D corp is not a weakness. Tanguay will be up soon for a huge increase in $alary, further making it a non-starter for NYI.

I really don't see Calgary's incentive to move the recently acquired Warrener, though they could certainly use Parrish. For NYI, any move of Parrish is likely going to have to result in more than a $500,000 reduction in payroll, which is the relatively small difference between MP's and RW's respective salaries.
