First of all, Congrats to the guy.
Second, can anybody tell me what kind of goal it was?

Santala's first goalV for Voodoo 11-17-2003, 08:27 AM First of all, Congrats to the guy. Second, can anybody tell me what kind of goal it was? Holly Gunning 11-17-2003, 08:44 AM Petrovicky and Cowan with good work along the boards behind the net, Petro centered the puck from behind, it deflected off Shields' stick which was down on the ice, out to Santala who was coming down the slot. Pretty easy pop-in really, since Shields was down. His teammates seemed happier about it than he did, he just smiled. I couldn't stand anymore post hits this season without scoring. Hopefully it will be the first of many as Shawn has been great this season thus far. Tristelune 11-17-2003, 01:02 PM Yeah! Now I am waiting for XLB first goal! hahaha! But hey, he did bring some offensive rush from time to time so that would be fun to watch! I guess he's my fav Thrashers so far! :) dunwoody_joe 11-17-2003, 01:14 PM Santala is an interesting player. His skating style is awkward. He is upright and seems to have difficulty with quick stops and turns. On the other hand, he is gritty, positionally sound and strong. He looks like a Western Canadian forward, not Finnish. His shots are inaccurate and I was wondering whether he might ever score. On the other hand, he is always mucking it up in the corners and around the net. He seems to lack confidence but last night's goal might turn the tide for him. He didn't celebrate at all but his teammates were ecstatic for him. It was nice to see that his linemates value his play. This kid has a chance to be a very solid player. I can see him as a fixture on the #3 line for a long time! dunwoody_joe 11-17-2003, 01:19 PM X, on the other hand, has arrived. I have watched him very closely and X plays a classic defensive defenseman game. A strong, positionally sound and technically clean game. He backs up his d-mate and rarely gets beat. Around the boards he is strong and makes the simple play. Nothing flashy and few mistakes. He's a force on the ice. We might wait a long time for his first goal but if he continues his strong defensive play, we can wait until late April ;) I would take another like X instead of Tamer, Trembley or Tjarnqvist anyday (and twice on Sundays). Plus, he's still young and growing and learning. He'll be patroling the Thrashers' blueline for the next 15 years! Tristelune 11-18-2003, 08:29 AM X, on the other hand, has arrived. I think Harley should give them more responsability and more ici time to see how they respond. So far, that my favorite tendem. I guss is not an hasard that they are the only blue liner that have play Thrashers every game so far! As for Tjarqvist, he still making some mistake but overall, he has improve comparing to last years! I think we should at least giving him a chance! As for Tremblay and Tamer, I just can't stand them! So far, they have been outplayed most of the time! | ||
