Blues in the QMJHL

1) Zakharov 18 games, 13 goals, 6 assists, 19 points, plus-2

2) Shkotov 13 games, 6 goals, 10 assists, 16 points, plus-1

3) Bolduc 22 games, 11 goals, 7 assists, 18 points, plus-8

1. Zakharov isn't dishing, but if he's a sniper as billed he's not supposed to. Looks good.
2. Shkotov is earning high marks from others after finally getting dealt. We'll have to watch how he does through the season.
3. Seems like Bolduc still isn't getting 1st-line time, which is part of the reason he dropped in the CS rankings late last season. Anyone know more?

I've heard some nice things about the russians, Shkotov and Zakharov. They'd both better develop into top tier players because the Blues are tremendously weak, prospect-wise, where skilled forwards are concerned. God knows Pohl and Panzer will never be real top-line players and the Blues had better grow their own eventually.

How many top 6 forward prospects have the Blues drafted and developed in the past 10 years? Nagy, maybe Handzus? Am I missing anyone? Just seems the Blues have not been able to develop forwards, at least recently.

How many top 6 forward prospects have the Blues drafted and developed in the past 10 years? Nagy, maybe Handzus? Am I missing anyone? Just seems the Blues have not been able to develop forwards, at least recently.

Id like to think that was because of previous management. Dont worry, good things are around the corner.

I know I posted this in another thread... but forget about the first 3 games of the month.... since their 3 game/3 night road trip two weekends ago, he's score 7 goals and had 4 assists.... Just in 4 GAMES!

But one should keep in mind that Blues stressed upon drafting D's since Pleau became GM.

Good point. But you can ask the same question about -- how many goalies -- how many defensemen -- in the last ten years?

It's a pretty poor record and that's why they absolutely must improve their drafting and development system. Hopefully they're on the right track now.

Answer (?) - Goalies - none. Defensemen - one. (Jackman).

I believe Brent Johnson was acquired in a trade from Colorado. But he was developed in the Blues system. Trevor Byrne and Colin Hemingway will hopefully also make the Blues some day.

We had one of the johnson's also. I dont remember if it was craig or greg. I believe we drafted jason marshall. I dont know how long he was in our system. Fighter gordie dwyer was drafted the same year as reasoner. I realize they arent top level talent, but they are nhler's. What about laperierre. Was that moer than 10 yrs ago. Jamie Rivers has bounced around abit.
