3rd Jersey

hey, aren't the thrashers supposed to be releasing a new 3rd jersey, anyone know when they will be doing this....

hopefully its not a letdown like dallas' third, i really want one and this would give me a good reason to do so

The rumor-mill has churned out a few bits and pieces here and there about what they will look like.

1) They will be predominately the lighter blue color used on our away jerseys.

That light blue in the T is what I believe it will be.

2) It will have "ATLANTA" going down at least one of the arms of the jersey.

3) It will be using a different logo, my best guess is the often missed solo bird head done in blue. Like the solo head at the top of this pin.

That's a "T"? OK, I always wondered why there was a Mercedes Benz logo in the middle of the bird. Still looks more like a "Y" than a "T" doesn't it?

I'm not exactly sure if it is a "T" but that is what I hear it normally referred to as.

I think the Thrashers have one of the best jerseys in the league(top three definatly) so I hope the third jersey isn't lame like a lot of thirds tend to be. I love the home and away, and I have a home dark(Kozlov) but I prefer the away white, I just usually buy dark jerseys because I'm sloppy.

LOL. Funny quote. As to the sweater I've heard a bunch of stuff, but I don't know how much to believe. The light blue is a lock, but I'm hearing the high sticken chicken is the logo of choice. Atlanta down the sleeve I've heard as well. Standard border at the shirt bottom. The yellow beaks on the dark blue and maroon. I'm not thinking it's going to be too pretty :eek: Guess we'll know in a couple days

One thing for sure is that it will be rated as one of the leagues worst. I know this because, if it isn't red, blue, white, or have a winged wheel on it then everybody will hate it. You have to admit, HollyG, that even if their thirds weren't the color of bile, Nashville would still be a fun dog to kick. Ticks and all.

Oh, we've had our "kicks". Hey I like the Nashville jersey. It's obnoxious. It reminds me of a 1972 Skylark. This is hockey, not a fashion show. Besides, you can't say "The Nashville what?" anymore. that team makes a statement when it hits the ice.

That said, though- I hope Atlanta's 3rd is kick butt cool! ;)

I'm glad they went with the chicken in a blender logo instead of the batman. After that I'm just sort of eh about the whole thing. Something new to sell over the holiday season, and won't offend anyone too badly. Typical AOL.

the light blue isn't offensive, but a little fruity looking possibly. ours say "we at least got grit", yours say "im still on the tit". all jokes aside, its not great, but not the worlds worst, that belongs to dallas.

I was expecting much better.

That's the problem with these jerseys. Teams announce they'll have a third jersey, and wait to unveil it. Good for marketing purposes, but not good for fans perceptions. Everyone gets a picture in their head of what they think would be the best jersey. When the time comes, if the actual product doesn't mesh with that perception, disappointment follows.

I'm not saying these jerseys are great, but they aren't that bad. And they could have been so much worse. I'll reserve my judgments until I see the jersey face-to-face, or see it in a game.

Some people won't like it no matter what, that's fine. Not everyone can like it. I just think it's worth the time to give it another look.

I think the color of the jersey looks out of place compared to the color of the logo. Other than that I like the new jerseys. Can anyone predict how many games in a row we will win in the new fatigues? I say three game winning streak and a four game undefeated streak in the new unis.

I wish it was just the head of the Thrasher as the logo, but I think the sleeve ATLANTA looks great.

I think it is an improvement over the batman one, and much better than I thought it would be.

Leaking away-

It kinda reminds me of the Caps jersey with that blue, otherwise I prefer the regular home and away jersey's over the new 3rd.

Turned out to be better than I thought it would be. I knew lowering my expectations would pay off someday. I'd probably buy it, although I'd rather buy the white one first.

Hey, are you guys releasing a pink 4th jersey too?


The jerseys look real fruity. I actually like Dallas's third. Columbus has the best third in the NHL IMO.

Well, after seeing them live in action last night, I must admit they look a lot better than I would have imagined. The blue is a bit richer in person. They grew on me quickly, and I might even say I like them.

I like 'em!!

Personally, I like them more than the CBJ 3rd, and I tend to be a CBJ 'homer'.
