I dont know if its just me and the people im around. But everyone i know who truly enjoys atleast 3 of the 4 major sports in North America (hockey, football, baseball, basketball) seems to think baseball is the most exciting playoff sport.

Too me it is by far the most exciting. The fans are always crazy. And games and series' can change unlike any other sport. I was just wondering if other people had this same opinion?

What sucks about the NHL is that all rounds being 7 games drags on...
THe NFL is good because it forces each team to bring there A game for a due or die game
The NBA isnt all that fun to watch because most series are sweeps or a team will be lucky to take 1 game of the series.
MLB is probably the best but last years world series was a drag w/ Houston going 4 and out but when theres a good series its usually an epic ala Boston vs NYY and FLA vs Cubs in 04 which led to a huge upset by FLA over the NYY

I think hockey is the best playoff sport. This is going to sound cheesey, but I think that the players and the fans connection with the Stanley Cup is what sets hockey apart. Some players spend 15+ years chasing that dream, and when they get it, they're like children with it (Bourque, Andreychuk and Brind'Amour immediately come to mind). Imagine if you were walking down the street and you saw the Lombardi Trophy or the WS Trophy or the O'Brien Trophy, what would your reaction be? Now imagine you're walking down the street and you see the Stanley Cup. I bet your reaction would be very different. And I think that connection is important in terms of how we feel about the playoffs, because the players aren't much different from us in that regard.

I think the second best playoffs is football, because it's win or go home every game. It makes the winning of each game all the more sweeter, and the build up all the more dramatic.

i prefer hockey for the intensity.

second is baseball, only because i don't like the first round being five games.

third is football...i only watch like, one game a year.

fourth is basketball because i don't watch or care about basketball.

Hockey is my favorite with football and baseball coming next.

Hockey is my sport, but baseball is the best post-season sport, I agree with you. The feeling in the air, round October is just different. Baseball takes centerstage. Fox just turns to baseball at night. A one hundred and sixty two game season, and it all could come down to one game. It is just special.

Hockey and Baseball are pretty inseparable in my opinion. Hockey is intense and like a marathon, but Baseball seems to have a lot more suspense and its fun to see some guy like Boone go from being average to Hero with a swing of the bat.

It seems to me you get a lot more glory for hitting a walk-off homerun than you do for scoring in overtime. Maybe thats because baseball is less of a team game than hockey, with respect to offense.

I think baseball is the best post season sport because it is by far the most difficult sport to make the playoffs in. So few teams make, and the season is twice as long as hockey and basketball that it is just that much harder. As a result, once the playoffs begin, the players respect it a lot more.

The Boones are far and few between in Baseball, whereas hockey playoffs bring about new heroes EVERY playoff, don't you think? Look at last years playoffs, look at all the new faces who became heroes.

For me its hockey, its more of a thrill watching a goalie make save after save than some pitcher getting consistent groundouts. More exciting watching a teams power play than a coach yanking a pitcher every batter to get the 'right matchup'.

Well hockey is my sport. I love it I play it. i'm canadian. So yes i love hockey playoffs, but there is just something about the atmosphere created in baseball. I'm only 21 so i dont really remember the Jays 2 world series victorys north of the border. But from whave ive been told it was similar to the Flames and Oilers cup runs where the whole country pulls for them.

Now I think both sports have intense post-seasons. but they are ina different way. Yes hockey has the screaming excitment for the whole game, the end of your seat for every shot every hit. You get mad or cheer for every penalty. Its that raging excitment.

But Baseball its almost like you sit there and your more of a nervous excitment when you team is playing. with the stadiums holding more fans its louder. You get heros in one swing or one catch. You get these amazing moments that u can sit there and enjoy. Remeber Curt Schilling and the bloody sock. I get goose bumps just thinking about that whole series.

So the excitment is total opposites. yet you get the same thing outta them

I think baseball and hockey are both equally good playoff sports.
