Just out of curiousity what's the deal with Malhotra?
I mean me being a die hard Pens fan, I noticed that he was just waived and figured maybe a rebuilding Penguins team would be a nice place for him to start anew.
Is the guy a bust and was he way overrated when he was drafted or the the jackass Rangers organization damage the kids career?
I'd tend to think The Rangers scenario is pretty accurate.
Honestly as much hockey as I watch I never really paid that much mind to Malhotra but when he was drafted I heard numerous comparisons to Peca. And to tell you the truth if the the guy still has potential to be come that type of player, the Pens could really use him over some of the dead wait they're giving valuable time to.

opinions vary. I think he has little beyond what a Sean Pronger, Jaime wright brings. A good Ahler without NHL skills. While big/fast, the NHL game seems to fast for him on offense and he is undistinguished on Defense. Poor on faceoffs. Poor hands. Clearly not worth a million and could use regular playing time either in the NHl or the Ahl. He is like the 6th center here but could be worth a gamble to Pitt. Really if he was a lower draft pick , this move would not even be discussed. Weimer is a much better player and he was waived.
