Russian_fanatic 10-15-2006, 12:13 AM I've been keeping an eye on him since summer league. I'm not even a Toronto Raptors fan, but this kid is going to become a star. I say within 3 years this guy is going to be the Toronto Raptors franchise player(better than Chris Bosh). I think he has potential to be a big star in the NBA. He has an amazing shot, AMAZING mobility for someone his size, and he's so quick for a 7-0, also he has good defense, I remember in summer league he was guarding Rondo, Rondo tried crossing him over, but Bargs stayed on his feet, kept with him, and got a steal. Add to the fact he is 255 pounds he is going to be a beast in the future. Also he is not scared to shoot. He looks like veteran out there, if there is a shot he wants, he takes. The kid isn't raw either he was playing against MEN in the euroleague. His team won the whole euroleague tournament, and he was one of the main players on that team.
He's just so smooth for someone who is only 20 years old. A future superstar IMO.
Bruinaholic 10-15-2006, 02:15 PM Toronto could be on too something if Bargnani turns out to be a Nowitzki type of player which alot of scouting reports predicted.

They said that about Tskitishvili too. Everyone is out to find the next Dirk. Problem is, you aren't going to find one.

Tskitishvilli was ALL POTENTIAL, and that is where it ends. Tshikitvilli played less than 100 minutes in the euroleague, while Bargnani has played over 1,000 minutes, and was the go to guy on offense, and he was the guy they gave the ball to in the last minute.
Bargs was also rookie of the year in the euroleague. Nikoz was on the bench, while Bargs was a main clog on the 2005-2006 Benneton Treviso team.

You could find someone who might turn out to be better also? right?
Dr.Funk 10-15-2006, 08:07 PM I'm am a Raptors fan and if Bargs doesn't cut down on the fouls he is going to be hard pressed to get court time.
He needs to do a lot of developing to be even close to Bosh. I don't see it happening.

Those where BS calls today. He had a CLEAN block, and they called a foul on him. Then he was standing up straight and a guy leans on him, and he gets the foul? Stupid officiating EVER. They're being hard on him because he is a rookie. Bargs doesn't have foul problems, it's these rookie refs they're playing in pre-season, and their needs to make a call to stand out.

It was still stupid officiating in my eyes. You could clearly see on that one play it was a CLEAN block.

Doesn't matter if he was a rookie,Bosh only had 2.9 fouls per game in his rookie season.
advantage2006 10-16-2006, 03:19 AM I doubt he will be better than Bosh or the same player as Nowitzki.I see a better shooting Lamar Odom for him.

Management seems to see Andrea as a possible future C. With his speed range, moves, playmaking, imagine the matchup problems.
Bargs-Bosh wouldnt offer very much D but man could they run and score.

Sweet vid BTW, you cant help but feel for the kid when he walks off the court crying, the passion is palpable.
Cerebral 10-18-2006, 06:47 PM Bargnani will be a solid player for the Raptors. He'll take some time to develop but I absolutely love what I have seen out of the kid so far. He has an unbelievable touch on his shot for a seven footer but it's his ability to drive that makes me think he'll be a big time scorer in the NBA. It sounds like the Raptors want to start him out at centre, he could succeed in that role on a running team.
Anthony Parker is the player who really interests me on the Raptors. I don't think he'll put up eye-popping stats for the Raptors this year but he looks like he could be a fantastic glue guy and defender at the 2 or 3 spot.

Fantastic Video. He's a class act,and loves to win. He's the future of the raps and no one and I mean no one can change that.I think he is the most underrated player in the league, and I believe he really will be the next Kevin Garnett.

Bargnani is getting all the playing time he needs. He is still a project and should be brought alomng slowly. We don't want to burn him out for our playoff run(hopefully).
vancityluongo 11-08-2006, 06:12 PM Chris Bosh good? I don't think so.

Jaysfanatic* 01-08-2007, 08:58 PM In terms of Bosh v.s Bargnani, I'll have to say that Bosh will be the meaner defender and Bargs will score more points. Here's what I think in 4 years they'll stack up
Bosh 24.6 PPG and 13.9 RPG
Bargnani 27.8 PPG and 8.2 RPG
Either way, we're extremely, uber lucky.

Dr.Funk 01-08-2007, 11:47 PM 3.7 blocks per game would make Bargnani Defensive Player of the Year candidate and that ain't happening.
